Previous work experience could include failures - which is very valuable. Being too safe though would not get you innovative solutions.

A long history of work experience outweighs the school name, ANY DAY of the week. I want to hire experience, not just education.

Work Experience speaks volume versus what college they come from. I need to see who you worked for, what are you able to do, able to deal with and how you work. Not what test you took, now much information you learned.

Work experience specific to the job is sometimes more important than the college someone graduated from. Not all job skills can be or are aquired from by a college degree. Potential employers should evaluate applicants based on skills whether obtained through college or previous work are appropriate for the job.
