Poor leadership is the kiss of death to companies and careers. If you trust your judgement more than your leadership then make a move to find a company with excellent leadership.

No because if you’re not confident in leadership than the struggle will continue.

No, having to work even more closely with leadership about which you aren’t confident could be detrimental to your further success and disrupt work-life balance considerably.

If the promotion helps to increase salary, and provide greater influence within company may be worth staying till it occurs. If you are still worried about leadership and the company’s direction leaving is definitely better. Keep in mind the cultural aspect however - if you fit your company’s culture well, it may be a good idea to stick with it and try affect change.

No, if there is no confidence in leadership, there is no confidence in job security.

No. I was in a similar position and decided to wait out the promotion and stay in the position for a year. Absolutely nothing changed, in terms of leadership or culture and I ended up having to deal with that and more for not having the courage to leave when I first felt I should.

If you are not confident in your company's leadership, why didn't you look for a job last year? Do you really want to be promoted into a group in which you are already struggling? Take the high road, find a solid , sound environment where you fit right in. You will be promoted where your skills are most useful.
