
The Product team shares resources and funding with their sister brand, Macys.com so there is a lot of tension between the brands because they compete for resources and the Bloomingdale's team frequently is the loser. The Product leadership does not empower the team to make strategic decisions and the decisions they make are constantly scrutinized by leadership - they are purely executors of the requirements handed to them by stakeholders and Product leadership. This becomes frustrating because there is no development of skillset. so there is little career growth or growth of Product skillset. Career training is non-existent.
