It's the people. I work with some really great people.
It is impossible to get prescriptions covered through this insurance company. A lot of medications require prior authorization and then they are still denied after additional documentation is sent to them. People pay a lot of money for coverage and medicines should be covered.
Service, convenience, products, loyalty and continuity
Customer support and care are phenomenal
I've had BCBSTN for the last 11 years and I've never had one problem with them. I'm young with 4 heart attacks & 7 heart stents so you can imagine all of the other things I have going on. I've never had one issue with this insurance company TY 4 BCBSTN!!

Probably some of the best people I've ever worked with. They consistently offer assistance and take an interest in my activities in and outside of work. They challenge me to learn new software and are always willing to offer to teach more efficient ways to do things. No group is perfect, and we do experience challenges from time to time, but we are always able to resolve them and figure out the root cause of the issue to ensure the same problems don't re-occur.

The company culture at BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee places an emphasis on diversity and, for the IS Division, a pay-for-performance model is used. All management is accessible and willing to assist with career advice. For enterprising employees, various projects are available to help bolster experience and opportunities to make an impact. Like many insurance companies, some legacy technology is used and the vast majority of the employees are very experienced and willing to share their knowledge. Vertical mobility is somewhat limited, however, but it's an excellent place to start a career. Renewed focus has been directed towards employee development and new initiatives have been launched to help employees learn new skills to, possibly, move into different roles within the company. In summary, culture is a big deal and there are numerous, inclusive, events held thought the year that help raise awareness of different cultures.
