How's the work life balance at Humana?
Depends on team and manager. If you have a good manager, it still depends on that manager's director.
Depends on the department. Salaried nurses are expected to work 'overtime ' to meet production goals so some days are 8 hrs others 10 with struggling logging in on Saturdays.
Work/Life balance is highly valued at Humana. Most positions have the ability to work remotely from home. The finance department I worked in was mostly relaxed, though if there is a deadline to be met you will be expected to log in on the weekends.
Does Humana have any remote positions?
Yes
Yes but once you meet all your metrics for the most part. Been home 3 yrs now and it is so spoiling.
Yes.

23 days pto
Pretty good. Earn 7.5 hrs pto every 2 weks. And can take off if hrs and opening available. Our team will usually allow one person per day.
Very good! PTO is four and half weeks and over five weeks if you've been with the company over ten years. Also, the company just added two more holidays, for a total of ten holidays off in 2018.

He's fine but he needs his directors to ask harder questions and to not be so shielded
Think he's fine but he needs his directors to be more in the mix of their depts and to not be so shielded
If you could make changes, how would you improve the culture at Humana?
Hiring transparency. In Humana hiring is done internally and biased. This is causing diversity issue. Stop hiring spouses without evaluating talent.
Departments working more closely together to improve customer experience. Customer service and sales are not on the same page. Sometimes members get transferred to all different departments and it is frustrating to everyone, including employees.
Break down of silos more transparency
What's the office vibe like at Humana?
Political. If you consider yourself passionate person who wants to live purposeful life than you will largely be disappointed at Humana.
Everyone is afraid they will be terminated and those who will keep their jobs are the favorites but are typically quite cruel.
It's ok but senior leadership is shielded from a lot
What benefits does Humana provide?
Benefits are great. Generous PTOs 23 days 1.25 time match 401k
Good! Although you would think employees would have Cadillac health insurance but we don't. High deductibles and we pay quite a bit in from our paychecks.
