If you want to switch you can if you don't want to switch you don't have to. You drive your career path. Switching is not discouraged or encouraged and it is not a negative if you do. Individuals whom are early in their career at Lockheed are actually encouraged to move around in order to learn the business and become more valuable to the company.

Unless you're on a Management track you'll never switch from Engineering to HR. It would be easier to go from HR to engineering (as a manager).

It probably varies a little by business area. In Space Systems, moving around between programs is expected.
