I'm in an external-facing role meaning that I interact directly with the creators (our users) & get to share with them the progress that is made internally, much of the time on initiatives inspired by the creators themselves. That's super rewarding.

Although the company's employees are varied in life & career experiences, the mission of getting creators paid is extremely unifying; in other words, you automatically have that in common with anyone you encounter, which makes working together feel both ambitious & rewarding.

Patreon's mission is to get creators paid & the fact that this entire company was born out of the experience of our CEO Jack Conte, a musician/creator himself, makes us uniquely positioned to serve our users and make a tangible impact on their lives and livelihoods.

Although we have clear-cut roles & responsibilities, no one is "above" any task or project. My mother was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer seemingly out of the blue last month & my manager & senior teammates have pitched in to handle the big & little things to give me the space (& family time) I need.
