
It is generally based on demonstrable success in your role, and in comparison with peers of the same current level and the level you are being considered for. They are generally done either at end of year or mid-year for clear performers.
Very hard to get promoted. You must show that you go above and beyond and even then it is hard. Over weighted with Senior Managers and this makes it hard to move up.
Promotions are based on regular meetings with your manager and then interaction with your peers.
Arbitrary. They try to state it is on merit but it's not.
