Taylor Eighmy, PhD, is the sixth president of The University of Texas at San Antonio and the president of The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. On Sept. 1, 2025, the two universities officially merged to create the third-largest public research university in Texas, and Eighmy will serve as its president.
In addition to serving as university president, Eighmy holds faculty appointments in the Margie and Bill Klesse College of Engineering and Integrated Design’s Department of Civil and Environmental Science and Ecology.
Eighmy is passionate about the critical role that research universities play in creating and applying knowledge to improve the world.
