I can't say for other teams but in my department within Engineering, its a pretty friendly vibe. Very collaborative as we work fast. If you're a bit introverted, you may feel like others around you within your department gets a bit clique-y but they're not excluding to be mean or anything -- I think this is pretty typical in general for a lot of places. As far as work goes, if you ask for help, someone will always get back to you on it and/or explain any context to help you ramp up, or direct you to someone who best knows the answer. I've never been turned away whenever I needed help, and a huge part of why I enjoy working at Wayfair is because of the people and collaborative environment. -- Many people work around 8-9 hours. You'll have the occasional deploy in which you might have to come in earlier or something (only happened to me once), but it's really not a big deal if you're in the general Software Engineering role. Some people work more, mostly due to larger projects' needs.
