
Have a process of vetting existing managers and hiring good ones. I loved the people and company culture at Zip, but my manager’s incompetence and Napoleon syndrome made my time there quite miserable!
Better leadership, especially when promoting internally, and more processes put in place so we can maintain a friendly startup culture, but still be clear on expectations and responsibilities.
Some teams have more freedom than others, and it does sometimes take a toll on the morale of those who pay attention to it.
