Black Bear diner is a great restaurant as long as it has good owners. The standers are amazing but the owners have to care as much as the staff does. Unfortunately my restaurant is not up to the standard that it should be.
What does the leadership team need to get better at?
The store does not have a leader and they seem to keep losing them and loyal employees.
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
When we are busy and it's a team effort to bring hot food and fast service to the guest.
What are some of the best things about your team?
Our store has a amazing team we all work hard but we never have had a meeting for our crew in the 3 year I have been employed there.
What's going wrong and how can it be improved?
We have a good crew that want to succeed unlike I have ever seen in my experience as a server but lack of leadership and people skills by store owners make it impossible to bring this restaurant to it's potential.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
I personally love the company and would like to devote my career to black Bear but the store I am at is not for making our guest happy. It is obvious that the quick buck is much more important then the return customer and high quality and standards.
