I think it's rare in the tech industry to find leaders who are so approachable and relatable, that share genuine values for both excellence and compassion for their employees and the world.
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
Everybody at the company both wants to accomplish amazing things and support each other doing amazing things. Unlike other companies where the competitiveness between employees is almost encouraged, Discord encourages true collaboration and accomplishments are acknowledged at the team level.
What makes you most happy at work?
I get a true sense of satisfaction from completing the tasks and projects I'm working on, because they get recognized within the company and I get a great deal of enjoyment seeing my work make a difference in the product.
What did you like most about the interview process?
It was extremely challenging, but also the interview process at Discord is very personal, because it's not just solving tricky engineering questions with someone looking over your shoulder, it's about getting to know the person you'll be working with ideally for a good long time.
