I worked at a Jenny Craig Centre for 5 years in several capacities, including Centre Director. When I look back on my career over all, I think more fondly of that experience and that team than any other company I ever worked for.
What makes you most happy at work?
Smiling faces of both coworkers and clients.
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
We experience immense satisfaction when our clients succeed and gain confidence in their abilities to improve their health and their lives.
What do you like best about the leadership team?
They are primarily women, and thus very understanding of their employees and their clients, who are also by a great majority women.
What did you like most about the interview process?
I loved the opportunity to brag about my own weight loss and fitness success, and the opportunity to demonstrate my sales skills by selling a pen to the Regional Director who interviwed me.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
The base salary and bonus structure are excellent; however, the 401k plan is very "skinny," the health benefits way too expensive, and the overall benefit package not commensurate with the size and success of the company.
What are some of the best things about your team?
Since my entire team is women, and women tend to be nurturers, we all look out for one another. We also pinch hit with other counselors clients, as needed. Centre directors all look out for one another's centers and teams.
