My experience working here has been fantastic. There are very few companies that provide the growth opportunities and career paths that Micro Center not only offers but encourages. Micro Center truly wants internal growth which is rare to see especially in the retail industry.
What makes you most happy at work?
I feel that I'm able to be productive and get what I need done.
What are some of the best things about your team?
I truly feel that I work on a team who shares the same goals and wants to work together to accomplish them. We may not always agree but we are able to communicate effectively and work through any differences we may have.
What do you like best about the leadership team?
I truly feel that the work I do makes a difference in the company and to our customer base. Our company provides a very important service to the community which people can't find elsewhere. I feel that I'm given the autonomy to contribute and make a positive difference.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
Pay in this company is not determined based on the role/job that is being completed but rather based on what you have been previously paid in other roles. I make less than the employees I manage. Pay increases and reviews are not conducted on a regular basis and I didn't receive either last year.
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
The culture of helping the customer and the company giving you the tools to do so have always been what I've loved about working at Micro Center. The reason why Micro Center is successful where many others have failed is its passion for customer service and it is the reason I pursued a career here.
