I think it's a sweetspot. It's small enough to feel like you know everyone but large enough that it feels like we have the resources and processes to get things done. I know things will change as they always do. But for now, I'm proud to be here and to build a company that matters, together
What makes you most happy at work?
Getting code out and mentoring my teammates. It's super rewarding to close a big ticket and to see my teammates improve.
What are some of the best things about your team?
My team's tiny, but I love the general chemistry and internal stability. Our department isn't too stable to be honest, but with my direct team I feel stable and confident that they support me
What is the best part about your compensation package?
I could go into details, but this is the first company where the compensation made me feel like an investment rather than an asset. They focus a tonne on improving and pushing you to get to the next level while emphasizing work-life balance and respecting boundaries
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
The people! I mean that's really it at the end of the day. The events, the benefits and everything is really secondary if you don't have the right mix of people to begin with. I really treasure the team as a whole and that's what makes the difference
What do you like best about the leadership team?
Okay seems odd that I put all 10s, but its true. Leadership isn't perfect obviously, but they sincerely care and they bounce back quick. We had a really bad exec AMA when the recession first hit, but there was really quick remedial action to address the pain points and I appreciate that.
