
People are genuinely friendly and seem to care about each other. It's a fun collegial environment.
I like that people have lives outside of work so there is a commitment to work-life balance. And people's creative pursuits inform their work.
I have a good degree of autonomy. I am able to take projects and run with them and influence at a high level without too much unnecessary feedback.
The equity here is lacking compared with my other tech companies. But the base is much more generous. I prefer the generous base because you have the money upfront and can invest it as you see fit rather than being beholden to vesting schedules.
I'd like to separate my manager (who is forward thinking, visionary, and committed in both word and deed to diversity and inclusion_ from the C-suite, who lacks in some of the aforementioned areas. Overall I think Squarespace has a great culture of work life balance and isnt cutthroat.
