How employees describe working at Vrbo
Screen your listings and help your customers that get scammed by your listings. I got scammed by someone in VRBO and had to find another listing via another site last minute and VRBO wont help me with the first night because is wasnt one of their sites.
CUSTOMER SERVICE, vetting guests, supporting owners, legal, and so much more!
When someone cancelled a reservation within 2 hours, they are told that they would get a refund with 7/10 days. Now it is 12 days, and I have been told it would be another 72 hours. I cancelled on May 7th. On May 16 I received an email stating they would charge my card another $953.49.
I have been with VRBO since 2005, they get worse and worse every year. They treat their customers (owner of places) like crap. They are just in it for the money. The customer service are nice but cannot do anything. the upper management doesn't care and are greedy...
Customer service is the poorest and sorriest team I have seen, Every agent we talked with told they were the last level of help and there is no one else above them. The inmates run the business.

What benefits does Vrbo provide?
standard benefits + Friday breakfast
Typical benefits - medical, dental, etc. - although no gym membership or subsidy once Expedia took over. :-(
If you could make changes, how would you improve the culture at Vrbo?
Diversity training; respect for everyone, regardless of race, gender, age, etc.
Culture is good overall but still too many fiefdoms and not enough open, cross-team collaboration. Lack of communication is the biggest obstacle the company needs to overcome.
What is the dress code at Vrbo?
Dallas debutantes in designer flip flops.
What is the PTO policy at Vrbo?
Depends on the level of the employee. It can range from 2 - 4 weeks; for executives and directors it has been "unlimited." (That may be changing.) Unfortunately, depending on the department or manager, taking ANY time off is looked upon as weak and it's hard to do so. Those managing to escape for any length of time can expect to be on-call 24/7. Ironic for a company that bills itself as a vacation company.
What is Vrbo's policy towards pets in the workplace?
No pets

Top Employee Response
Usually large layoffs are communicated in "all-hands" meetings which may include several offices across multiple languages and time zones. Extremely chaotic.

Marginal; jobs are created/eliminated at the whim of managers, with no real oversight by HR or legal.
