
Since Widen focuses heavily on company culture during their hiring efforts, many of my co-workers share my same work style, values, and dedication. While you're never going to be best friends with everyone, as a result of this strategy, I'm able to work effectively with my co-workers.
The culture encourages autonomy and an entrepreneurial spirit so employees must be able to be nimble, work quickly, and wear many hats. This can make for some stressful times, but if you believe in what you're working on and with whom you're working, it's a rewarding experience.
I weigh the flexibility of our schedules into our compensation package so that plays a big part into how I feel about it. While I know strictly from a monetary perspective we're paid less than similar positions at other companies, we also have a lot more perks that aren't always available elsewhere.
When I'm able to see the impact of my work. This doesn't happen on all of my projects and things can move so fast that there's not always time to enjoy the wins, but when I'm able to make a customer's day easier or create a piece of content that helps others, it encourages me to keep going.
