Comparably’s 6th Annual list of Best CEOs represents the top-ranked chief executives of 2022, based solely on anonymous employee sentiment ratings provided to Comparably.com over the past year (Nov. 27, 2021-Nov. 29, 2022). Derived from 15 million ratings across 70,000 companies, the list is segmented by the Top 100 CEOs of Large companies (more than 500 employees) and Top 100 CEOs of Small/Mid-Size businesses (500 or less employees). All CEOs on the Top 100 list ranked in the Top 5% of all CEOs on the site. See below the lists for detailed methodology.

Methodology
- Comparably’s 6th annual Best CEOs list is based solely on ratings provided by employees who anonymously rated their CEOs on Comparably.com over a 12-month period (Nov. 27, 2021 through Nov. 29, 2022).
- The final rankings were determined based on the most positive sentiment ratings about CEOs from 70,000 companies large and small. All Top 100 CEOs ranked in the Top 5% of all CEOs on the site within the past year. Sample questions include:
- How would you rate your CEO?
- Do you approve of your CEO?
- To qualify, Large companies (more than 500 employees) must have met a minimum of 75 employee participants and Small/Mid-Size companies (500 or fewer employees) must have met a minimum of 25 employee participants. Additional weight was given to companies with more participation from their employee base, relative to their company size, for statistical significance.
- There were no fees or costs associated with participating, nor was nomination required.
