Our Waste Connections Women’s Network has created a unique mentorship program focused on delivering on the specific needs of our members. This program offers a blend of personalized guidance, professional development, community support & networking. The mentees and mentors benefit from one-on-one mentorship with peers and company leadership. What sets us apart is our focus on fostering long-term relationships and creating a supportive environment that empowers women to excel in their careers and achieve their personal goals. Our programs are designed to not only enhance career growth but also to build a strong, supportive community of women professionals.

What are the key benefits, and differentiators, of your mentorship programs?
Mentorship programs at RX offer continuous support, guidance, and experiences tailored to individual needs, with mentees having access to mentors from across all four RELX businesses. Career development mentoring is available year-round, on-demand to all employees, alongside more tailored programs including Product Excellence and Women in Technology mentoring programs which aim to encourage greater representation of under-represented groups in functions that are vital enablers for growth at RX. We also support our diversity and inclusion commitments with mentorship opportunities including our Proud to Be RELX program which aims to facilitate personal growth and career development for early-career and new members of the LGBTQIA+ community, as well as supporting our local communities via our partners. For example, through our partnership with BYP Network (Black Young Professionals), RXers have the opportunity to provide mentorship to BYP Network members.

We have a dedicated team that develops and nurtures our unique mentorship programs, covering everything from onboarding to long-term career guidance. What sets our programs apart is the meticulous curation by our team, who craft and mold each program with care. Our Mentorship Program offers personalized mentorship tailored to employees’ career goals, providing targeted guidance and support. Mentors and mentees are hand-selected based on their professional expertise and alignment with the program’s objectives, ensuring a successful pairing. Additionally, our “Hippo Buddy” program helps new employees navigate their first few weeks at Golden Hippo. Each new hire is paired with a seasoned employee who offers guidance through our unique company culture, as well as personal and professional support. After each mentorship cycle, our team conducts surveys and feedback sessions to continuously improve our programs. This dedication and personalized approach make our mentorship initiatives exceptional.

What are the key benefits, and differentiators, of your mentorship programs?
At Vista, we recently piloted a Mentorship Program for Recruiters on our Global Talent Acquisition team. Lead Recruiters are paired with Senior Recruiters, which gives team members the opportunity to build structured and trusting relationships through coaching and support. The mentors build their skills from a leadership perspective, meanwhile the mentees are upskilled in new areas of the Vista business. Throughout weekly 121s and group sessions, the Mentorship Program truly helped in creating stronger relationships between mentors and mentees, in ensuring a safe space where people could share their experiences and challenges and in building a stronger sense of community. During this journey we also gathered participants’ feedback and this really enabled us to learn about their views, incorporate any improvements for the future of this program and to continuously grow together, both as individuals and as a team.

Mentorship Programs help to foster a culture of continuous learning, boost individual’s engagement and create synergies and collaborations between team members. They are a benefit to both the mentor and mentee, who can bring their unique experiences, knowledge, challenges and expertise to each meeting.
