Execs Are Most Likely to Say They Have a BFF at Work

People who work in the highest levels of their company tend to have the highest rates of saying they have a best friend at work, according to the latest reading of an ongoing query by Comparably. More than 10,000 people across the tech industry responded to the query.

Sixty-six percent of executives say they have a best friend at work, the most of any department of workers across tech companies. The next-highest rates were among HR workers (65%), business development (61%), and communications (61%).

Research shows that having a best friend at work improves retention and productivity.

Men were slightly less likely than women to say they have a best friend at work (56% vs. 60%).

The older you are, the less likely you are to say you have a BFF at work

Workers younger than 30 had the highest rates of saying they have a best friend at work (61%). The rate declined from there, hitting a low of 50% among those nearing retirement.
