As a company that cares deeply about its community, Chipotle is always seeking opportunities to drive real change and support meaningful causes. Committed to rigorous Food with Integrity standards, Chipotle is passionate about the future of farming, an industry that has faced enormous challenges and has lost over 40 times more farmers than it gained in the last five years. Chipotle works to strengthen the farming community by supporting local farms. In 2021, Chipotle purchased more than 35 million pounds of locally grown produce, and has spent more than $400 million in food premiums over the last two years on responsibly sourced and humanely raised ingredients. Chipotle also supports the National Young Farmers Coalition and its movement to advocate for policy change in the 2023 Farm Bill that would facilitate equitable access to up to one million acres of land for the next generation of farmers. In addition, Chipotle inspires its guests to drive change through its Round Up For Real Change feature in the Chipotle app and Chipotle.com. Guests can round their bill up to the next highest dollar amount to support Chipotle’s partners. In 2021, over $6.1 million was raised for nine non-profits through Round Up for Real Change.

Flowserve’s global community impact program, Flowserve Cares, helps make meaningful impacts in the communities where our associates and customers live and work. The programs selected for grants reflect a wide range of needs that align with Flowserve’s core support areas: at-risk youth, stem programs and education, disaster recovery, and community issues.

Flywire has always had an active role in giving back to our communities and supporting employees with social, charitable, and volunteering programs. In the past, we have even organized and funded many charitable events including our annual trip with School the World. In an effort to encourage FlyMates to take action, Flywire’s leadership team decided to provide FlyMates with two paid days of time off per year to dedicate their time to a social cause they care about.
How does it strengthen your company to give back to your community?
One of Flywire’s values is authenticity and we want our FlyMates to bring their authentic selves in and outside of the workplace. If we truly want to “do better” in the world, we must take real action in our communities. We encourage all FlyMates to truly evaluate their own desire to have impact in the world, how they lead their day-to-day life, how they treat others, and whether there are ways that they can contribute to improving their country, community and themselves.

This past year we founded the LexisNexis African Ancestry Network LexisNexis Rule of Law Foundation Fellowship, an initiative towards our commitment to eliminate systemic racism in legal systems and build a culture of inclusion and diversity in communities. Outside of the rule of law, we have a LexisNexis Cares group that partners with local organizations to host monthly events to support our local communities. Volunteerism comes in all shapes and sizes at LexisNexis all in effort to advance the rule of law around the world.

That is why we offer cares days and pro bono hours to all employees. This is time for employees to take their talents to focus on building a better community outside of LexisNexis. Our people are our strength, and by empowering employees to focus on passion projects they have been able to help produce interactive tools, like our Rule of Law Impact Tracker, to provide access to legal remedies to thousands of individuals across the globe. What are some of the ways your company gives back to the community?
Everbridge places high importance on giving back to its local and global community, Everbridge offers a Pro-Bono program where employees can nominate non-profit organizations who would benefit from the CEM platform but can’t afford it. This program enables selected organizations to effectively deploy Everbridge solutions free of charge. For example, Everbridge supports the Boston Athletic Association (BAA), who sponsors the Boston Marathon, as well as Beverly Farm, a home for adults with disabilities. Beverly Farm uses Everbridge’s products to notify parents of critical events, which is especially helpful as parents often live in different states as their children at Beverly Farm. Furthermore, Everbridge partners with Blue Trident (An organization founded by former Everbridge CEO, Jaime Ellertson) to donate and raise money for the CDC (Centers for Disease Control) during the COVID-19 pandemic. Everbridge has hosted multiple 5K runs to fundraise for the CDC and Blue Trident. Finally, all Everbridge employees are given 2 days of volunteer time off (VTO) annually, and these two paid days allow Bridgers the opportunity to give back to their communities.
How does it strengthen your company to give back to your community?
Everbridge’s internal community is strengthened by supporting its external community. Everbridge employees often volunteer at the Boston Marathon in person (using their VTO) to support the BAA during its big race, and this brings Bridgers together and connects them with our local community. Furthermore, an Everbridge employee and Beverly Farm mother advocated for Everbridge’s partnership with Beverly Farm, and Everbridge listened to her, in turn strengthening her view on the company culture and further incentivizing other Bridgers to advocate for initiatives close to their hearts and encouraging them to be active in their communities. Finally, during the pandemic, employees came together on Slack channels to share training tips, foods/snacks, and selfies from their virtual 5Ks. This slack channel increases the sense of community and enhances Bridger culture.
