Vervent Remains Committed to Continued Operations

San Diego, California’s Vervent is the fastest growing servicer of loan and lease portfolios in the country. Team members pride themselves in setting the global standard for outperformance in complex service industries by delivering top industry expertise, future-built technology, and substantial services that are built for speed. Their solutions – loan and lease servicing, call-center support, backup servicing, and third-party collections – empower companies to accelerate business, drive compliance and maximize service.

How has this pandemic shifted the way your business operates, and how have your people responded to the crisis?

“As a critical infrastructure business, Vervent is committed to remaining open during the coronavirus pandemic. Our team has responded incredibly well and continues to work hard to support each other and our clients. We continue to implement the highest level of prevention and precautionary measures as guided by the CDC to keep everyone safe, which has been in place across our operations centers since mid-March,” says Jannet Zamora, SVP of Operations.  These include:

  • Temperature scans upon entry
  • Strict social distancing
  • Split shifts
  • Reduced hours to minimize the number of staff in the office at any one time
  • Deep & more frequent cleaning
  • Travel bans
  • ‘No Visitor’ policies
  • Remote working where possible
  • Video and Teleconferencing
  • Covid-19 PTO

“These and other measures are designed to keep our staff healthy and safe while enabling them to continue earning paychecks to support their families during this crisis.”

What are you most proud of that your company has achieved over the last year or so?

“The two most prominent events that have happened at Vervent in the past year are the closing of a significant investment round with Stone Point Capital in July 2019, and the merging of First Associates and Portfolio Financial Servicing Company (PFSC) to form Vervent, a world-class financial service support organization, in October 2019.”

How would you describe your workplace culture, and what attributes are you looking for when determining who gets hired at Vervent?

“Vervent sets the standard of outperformance in complex service industries. Our vision is to drive organizations – and ourselves – to exceed maximum potential. We owe our success to the employees who call us home and, lucky for us, our people are the best in the business. We seek team members who have drive, who can think outside the box, who can collaborate as well as self-motivate, and who want to accelerate with a growing organization that prides itself on excellence.”

Are there any guiding principles that you or your company live by?

“Vervent has four values that we try to live by:

  • Intentional Acceleration: Be as quick as we are excellent – with equal parts intentional horsepower, meticulous execution, and deep experience, we get the job done better and faster than anyone.
  • Bold Leadership: As the best in the business, we create standards that unapologetically guide our clients and industry to new heights.
  • Fearless Determination: Run ambitiously forward and do whatever it takes to solve the hardest problems.
  • Thoughtful Impact: Commit to deeply understanding each other, our clients and our client’s customers to best serve and support the success of all.”

What has been the biggest challenge to overcome as a business, and how did you rise to the occasion?

“Our biggest challenge has been to continually evolve to stay on pace with an ever-changing industry and global financial market, while also maintaining three-plus decades of stability.”

What are some of the best practices you and your staff do to stay connected, in general and in times of crisis?

“We maintain committed to each other, to our clients, and to keeping operations running. We are a family and with that comes open communication, empathy, and the practice of everyone pitching in to get whatever needs to be done completed quickly and up to Vervent standards.”
