Hypothetically, if you were to quit your job tomorrow, what would your reason be?
For 41% of workers, the number one answer is being “underpaid or unappreciated,” according to the latest reading of an ongoing query by Comparably. Indeed, that response was the most popular among people of all ages (18 to 66), genders, ethnicities, education levels, and years of experience.
The second most popular response was a lack of career advancement (30%), followed by a negative work environment (12%). The least popular responses were company instability (11%) and difficult coworkers (6%).
The results came from more than 10,000 responses by workers in and out of the tech industry. The latest reading is as of Aug. 3.
