Fifty-four percent of women in legal roles say they are satisfied with their work-life balance, the lowest of any department.
That’s according to the latest reading of an ongoing survey by Comparably of 30,000 people in jobs across the tech sector.
Up close by department
After women in legal, the lowest rates were among men and women in IT and operations. Workers with the highest view of their work-life balance are those in executive roles (76% of men and 72% of women say they are satisfied).


Women less satisfied overall
Overall, 69% of men and 65% of women are satisfied with their work-life balance.

Age doesn’t appear to matter much
The percentage of workers who are satisfied with their work-life balance doesn’t appear to change much across age groups.

Seattle has the best work-life balance
Seventy-four percent of workers in Seattle say they are satisfied with their work-life balance, the most of any city. San Francisco and Boston were close behind (72% and 70%). On the other end of the spectrum was Minneapolis, where 54% of people say they are satisfied with their work-life balance.
