Tell us a fun fact about yourself?

I love to listen to all types of music and dance. Listening to music is a stress reliever for me and it makes the soul feel good. My younger son and I would even have carpool karaoke sometimes, but please do not ever let him know I told you.

What is one Diversity & Inclusion program, initiative, or event at IPC that makes you proud to work here, and why?

With all the injustice that we have seen lately around the world, IPC did not just look away. They solicited for their employees to come together to discuss the issues/concerns and asked “What can we do to help?” This made me proud to work here because it shows that they care.

What value does Diversity and Inclusion bring?

I went to school in a city where most people did not have the same opportunity to succeed as others who are more privileged. Although, I truly feel that if you want something badly enough, you can make it happen no matter what. However, diversity/inclusion allows people to have a platform who historically have been at a disadvantage and it brings awareness to all. It also allows the opportunity for ALL people to have a better chance to succeed in life and be accepted for who they are.

What does Diversity & Inclusion mean to you?

Being Bi-Racial (African American and Italian), I have experienced racism firsthand. Until you experience something yourself, you can never truly know how someone else feels and the impact it may have on a person. Having a diverse/inclusive community allows us to come together to see the world from different perspectives, and through connections with others, we can develop new ideas, passions, and directions to pursue. If everyone were the same, it would be a very boring world!
