Daybreak Games Company's Frequently Asked Questions page is a central hub where its customers can always go to with their most common questions. These are the 218 most popular questions Daybreak Games Company receives.
Joining an Outfit
Outfit leaders control outfit membership, which means you'll have to get one to like you enough to invite you to join. Check the Outfit Recruitment forums to find one worthy of impressing.
Creating an Outfit
Select the Outfit tab and enter a name (make sure it complies with the Naming Policy).
Hit Create Outfit and confirm to go to the Outfit screen.
As an outfit founder, you have the power to invite new members and promote or demote existing members. You will have the rank and permissions of the outfit Leader until you leave the outfit or demote yourself. At that point it is solely up to the new leader whether or not to let you back in.
Running an Outfit
Use the features on the Outfit screen to manage the outfit at maximum efficiency:
Outfit Tag: Enter an abbreviation of the outfit's name to be displayed before every member's character name.
Message of the Day: Post messages to be sent to all members of the outfit.
Members: Manage ranks and permissions for every member of the outfit, invite new members and remove existing ones.
Leaders: Outfit leaders have all of the permissions of a founder, with the exception of demoting other leaders and changing basic outfit information.
Leaders may promote other leaders, invite new members, and manage member ranks and permissions.
If a leader leaves an outfit, he loses all permissions and standing within the outfit. If he rejoins it, it will be at the most basic member level (though the founder or another leader can still promote him to leader again).
If by some cruel twist of fate an outfit leader goes rogue, it is up to the outfit members and/or other leaders to reach out to the founder to deal with the problem.
Founders: The ultimate power in an outfit rests with the founder. Founders are the only members who can demote leaders - which means if a founder becomes inactive, the current leadership cannot be demoted.
If the founder is completely inactive and the rogue leader refuses to cooperate, you will need to leave the outfit and create a new outfit with the leadership that you wish to have. In-game Customer Support is unable to assist with leadership issues. Even if a founder has completely left the outfit, the game, the solar system, what have you, his name will still appear on the outfit pages. This cannot be changed.

Deleted Characters
Please take the utmost care when deleting your character.
If you delete the wrong character customer service will not be able to restore it. Deleted characters are unrecoverable, if a character is deleted the only option is to start a new character.
Name Changes
If you wish to change your character's name you will need to purchase a rename token from the Depot.
Please be aware that if you choose a character name that violates our naming policy it will be changed to a random name. If you dislike the name you are given you will need to purchase a rename token.
Do not pick an outfit name that violates our naming policies.
If your outfit has a name that violates our naming policies we reserve the right to summarily disband the outfit with extreme prejudice. We may also change the name of the outfit, but that is an unlikely outcome. In the off chance we do change your outfit's name, it is final, and you will need to reform your outfit if you dislike the name chosen for you.
Outfit Leadership
Customer service cannot assist in changing the leadership of a outfit. At times all the outfit leaders may stop playing. If that happens we suggest you try to contact your leaders outside of the game or to simply make a new league.
Accidental Purchases and Buyer's Remorse
Customer service cannot assist with any purchases that have not failed. If you succeed in purchasing anything; a weapon, character slot, camo, etc., you are stuck with that item.
Review your purchase before you confirm it, and research what you are purchasing before finalizing the purchase to be 100\% sure you are getting what you want.
ACCOUNT AND BILLING ISSUES
Missing Claim Items
Are you sure? Because everything is granted automatically! You can equip boosts from the menu screen and access your guns and vehicles from the
consoles. Contact Support if you really are missing your items.
Account Password must be repeatedly reset
If when logging in you are repeatedly told to reset your password, please contact Account and Billing Support.
TECHNICAL ISSUES
LaunchPad: Error 11001
This error may appear when opening the LaunchPad if Proxy Settings are turned on in Windows Internet Options. Use the following steps to disable them:
Open the Control Panel and click on Internet Options
Click the Network tab at the top of the window
Click on the "Lan Settings" button at the bottom of that window
Uncheck "Use a proxy server for your LAN" and click OK
Click OK again to exit the Internet Options window
Run the game by right-clicking the PlanetSide 2 launch icon and selecting "Run as Administrator" from the menu that appears
LaunchPad: Error 4-404
This error on the LaunchPad indicates that the login servers are currently experiencing issues. These issues may happen periodically and should be
resolved within a few minutes.
Cannot Login / Stuck at Load Screen / New Character Missing
The login servers are currently experiencing higher than average load, which can cause recently created characters to not appear, loading screens to
appear stuck, and long login times. We are working on a fix to get everything back up and running as quickly as possible. Thank you for your patience.
"LaunchPad Not Supported" / Cannot Press Play
Some players may be unable to press Play on the LaunchPad to enter the game. This is due to the use of an older version of the launcher that is no longer supported.
If given the option, clicking "upgrade" will download the updated installer. When running this installer please choose Reinstall/Repair to correct the issue. If this is not an option, select "Install A New Copy" and select the folder where your game is currently located. This should prevent you from downloading a duplicate client.
Steam Validate Files Feature
Steam users, please avoid using the Steam Validate Files feature for PlanetSide 2. Steam's Validate tool does not properly calculate what needs updating
and could potentially delete up to 3GB of files that you will then need to re-download.
If you feel your game assets are damaged or corrupt you should only use the DBG LaunchPad's Validate Game Assets feature. You can find it by clicking
the gear button on the left side of the LaunchPad. This function will accurately ensure that all of your game data files are intact and up to date.
"Error: The downloaded file is incomplete or was corrupted"
If you receive this message while trying to install the game, you may need to clear the cache settings for the LaunchPad. To do this, go to the
launchpad.libs folder in your PlanetSide 2 directory and delete the launchpad.cache folder then try accessing the game again.
If that does not resolve the issue the launcher may have been corrupted and will need to be repaired before it will work correctly. You can repair the
launcher with the LaunchPad setup file from this link.
Error 123
There is a problem accessing the game files. Make sure that launchpad.exe, awesomiumprocess.exe, and planetside2.exe are added as exceptions to any
antivirus or firewall programs you are running. If you downloaded the game from Steam on a previous version of Windows, make sure that the Steam file is
moved from the "C:\Windowsold\Program Files (x86)" folder to "C:\Program Files (x86)".
Windows XP 64 Bit with an NVidia Video Card
We are aware of an issue that causes Windows XP (64 Bit) users to crash if they aren't using the specific GeForce R300 supported driver for their video
cards.
GeForce R300 Driver
If you don't know whether your Windows is 32 bit or 64 bit, chances are it is 32 bit and this does not apply to you.
FPS (Frame Rate) Issues
If you are experiencing sharp drops or consistently low FPS, you may simply need to optimize your PC for running PlanetSide 2.
Windows 8: Game window not launching / USB attachment issue
Game controllers and headsets connected via USB are causing conflicts with the game window launch process. Disconnect any USB controllers and/or
headsets and restart the computer, then launch the game again. This should take care of most Windows 8 launching issues that are not connectivity
related.
Current minimum and recommended system specs
If the game just can't seem to get off the ground it may be because your machine doesn't meet the current minimum specifications to run PlanetSide 2.
Check the Recommended System Specs here to make sure it can handle the epicness.
Game crashes or freezes
If the game suddenly freezes or crashes to desktop, or you receive the message “PlanetSide 2.exe has stopped working,” any of several different things
may be happening. Run through the list below until the game launches and runs properly.
If the game crashes and gives you an error message, refer to our list of the most common game errors here.
Verify that DirectX is up-to-date. Download the latest version here (external link).
Verify that your machine has the minimum required RAM to run the game. Check the minimum system specs above.
Validate the game’s assets. Open the LaunchPad and click on the Wrench icon in the lower left. Select Validate Game Assets and click Validate. The program will run through a check of all of its files. If any are corrupted, Uninstall and Reinstall the game from the same menu.
Right click the launcher setup file (launchpad.exe) and select Run as Administrator to install the game.
Make sure the folder you are installing the game to is not set as "Read Only".
Make sure that launchpad.exe, awesomiumprocess.exe and planetside2.exe are added as exceptions in any Firewall/Antivirus program(s) you are currently running. ((Check here for the steps to allow exceptions. ))
Certain antivirus programs must be disabled completely before the game will be able to run. ((They can then be re-enabled once the game has started. Find instructions on those programs here.))
Uninstall and reinstall the client via the settings menu of the LaunchPad.
If running Windows 8 and using a gamepad or controller, see the Windows 8 error above.
If trouble persists, please contact Customer Support.
Internet proxies
Optimize the PlanetSide 2 gaming experience by bypassing any HTTP Internet proxy software when installing and playing the game. Do not disable these
programs completely. Simply adding exceptions for PlanetSide2.exe and LaunchPad.exe should provide a more seamless entrance and alleviate additional
overhead and hiccups during game play.
Servers locked
If you get a message when trying to access a server that the servers are locked, that's because they probably are. Check the server status information
at the top of the forums for updates on current and upcoming server locks.
Data Execution Prevention (DEP) Must Be Enabled
"This program must run with data execution protection (DEP) enabled. You cannot turn off DEP for this program." If you receive this message when trying
to launch the game, follow the steps below.
Open the Control Panel and go to System and Security.
Click on the System tab, then click Advanced System Settings.
Under Performance, click Settings.
Go to the Data Execution Prevention tab and click OK.
Close the System window and try the LaunchPad again.
PlanetSide 2 crashes internet service
This is a known issue with CGD24G, CGD24N and CGD3000 wireless cable gateways. This often occurs when doing any actions that require groups or joining
chat channels. The router disagrees with the traffic and reacts by power cycling itself, cutting off the user's internet and crashing the game. This issue can be avoided by disabling voice chat. Please report this problem to the manufacturer and check the device for any firmware updates.
"G" ERRORS
Game Error G10
This indicates that one or more of your game files may have become corrupted. Visit the Game Error Codes page for more information.
Game Error G22
This indicates a simple connection issue. Please try these troubleshooting steps to resolve the problem. Contact Support if you can't fix the problem
using these steps.
Game Error G25
This is a very common error and indicates that there was an issue accessing your video card. Update your video card drivers from the manufacturer's
website. If that doesn't work a new video card may be needed. Find out your video card details by entering "dxdiag" in Run Commands.
Game Error G37
This indicates a connection issue with the Login Server. Please try these troubleshooting steps to resolve the problem.
Game Error G99
There is an issue connecting to the login server. The servers may be down for maintenance or game updates. Please wait a few minutes and try again a
little later. Be sure to check the forums for announcements on planned server shutdowns and estimated downtimes.
If there has been no notification of a server shutdown, validate your game files from the LaunchPad and make sure that Planetside 2.exe,
awesomiumprocess.exe and launchpad.exe are all set as exceptions in your firewall/antivirus program(s).
View ArticleWhat is the Public Test Server?
The Public Test Server gives players the opportunity to test out potential game changes with large player populations before any changes make their way over to the Live client.
How It Works
The Test server runs a bit differently than the Live servers do. Keep the following in mind:
Players can expect a lot more downtime, noticeable bugs and gameplay issues than they encounter on the Live servers. These will all be very normal occurrences so don’t panic.
There are no real money transactions in Test.
New characters on Test are granted an automatic 10,000 certs to get them going. Other character progression values may change as well as testing purposes demand.
Players should use the same Daybreak account as they use for the Live servers. Don’t fret, nothing in the Test server will affect anything in the Live servers, and vice versa.
There is no CS support in Test, except in the case of extremely disruptive players. If players encounter a game issue or bug (ha, if you definitely will), use the in-game bug report tool or post the issue in the Test Server: Discussion forum.
Player/character wipes can happen at any time.
Players may spot devs, QA and other DBG employees on the Test server.
Please treat them with the same respect you would any other player on the server.
We may broadcast requests for players to help with specific testing, so keep your ears open and help out if you can.
Players may ask questions, but keep in mind that DBG employees on Test most likely have long task lists to get through and are probably crunching time to do it; we may not have the time or ability to respond.
Keep an eye on the Test Server: Announcements forum for the latest additions and changes made to the server.
Let’s Do It
The Test server runs on a different client than the Live servers. Download the Test client by clicking here.
View ArticleAlerts System
Alerts are server-wide game events, initiated by the server itself in its omniscient automated wisdom. It’s actually dangerously close to becoming self-aware right now; we’d pull the plug but we’re kind of curious to see how far this will go.
When an alert triggers, players will have a set amount of time to accomplish the goals it sets. All players on the victorious Empire will receive a substantial reward, with players in the actual event area receiving an additional 20\% XP bonus.
Continental Alerts: These alerts can be won by achieving a Dominating Victory or a Normal Victory.
Dominating Victory (Continental Alerts Only) An Empire conquers 75\% of the territories on the alert continent. Once this is achieved by any Empire the event ends immediately and the alert reward goes to all players in that Empire, depending on the amount of time they participated in the alert.
Normal Victory (Continental Alerts Only) An Empire controls a larger percentage of territory than the other Empires when time expires, which isn’t anything to write home about but still counts if second best is okay with you. The reward is split between Empires based on the percent of objectives they control.
Facility Alerts: These alerts require that a certain number of facility types be captured within the time limit:
Capture Biolabs (global)
Capture Tech Plants (global)
Capture Amp Stations (global)
Capture Biolabs: Amerish
Capture Tech Plants: Amerish
Capture Amp Stations: Amerish
Capture Biolabs: Indar
Capture Tech Plants: Indar
Capture Amp Stations: Indar
Capture Biolabs: Esamir
Capture Amp Stations: Esamir
FAQ
When will alerts happen?
Alerts will primarily be activated during off-peak hours, when server populations are low. This will provide more incentives to jump on servers and keep the battle flowing consistently. Each server will launch alerts based on its own population patterns.
How much time is given for Alerts?
A small notification in the HUD notifies players of the time remaining for the current alert. Players can also hit Tab to open the Status screen and view the Alert System UI, which displays the current alert, each Empire’s current progress to victory, the time remaining and total alert reward.
How are alert rewards given out?
Empire alert rewards are proportional to the amount of time the player has spent playing during the alert. Only characters that participate through the entire duration of the alert will receive the full Empire reward. This participation time is specific to individual characters (not account wide). Players must be in-game when the alert ends to receive their rewards.

Go to any warp terminal in the warpgate to access the VR Training Simulator.
Once inside the computer (you're two levels deep now; be careful not to drop to three) players will have access to everything that exists in the paradoxically real world of Auraxis.
All vehicles, weapons and upgrades are unlocked and available with no resource cost or cooldown timer.
Knock some targets down at the shooting range, take on hordes of enemy bots in the open field, or get a squad together and tackle whatever objectives spring to mind.
No stats are recorded or rewards given while in the simulator, so permission is granted to go crazy.
Return to a warp terminal at the training facility to exit the computer-within-a-computer and get back to virtual real life.
Features
A full list of VR Training features follows:
Accessible through any warp terminal.
Each Empire has its own VR Training area.
A safe test area where you can try every weapon, vehicle and upgrade available to your Empire at no cost! All weapons for infantry and vehicles available to the player's Empire can be used!
Target dummies for vehicles and infantry that have the same properties as normal combat.
Indoor shooting range with random targets at 10 meter intervals for reflex practice and target recognition.
Outdoor shooting range with infantry and vehicle targets to train with all manner of weaponry.
Open area to practice driving or flying with vehicles.
A quad course is available but jump ramps haven't been installed yet, so be cautious and creative when navigating the course!
While in VR players have a separate set of loadouts for vehicles and classes. Normal loadouts are used when the player returns to one of the continents.
A Redeploy hotkey has been added and can be used without having to view the map. Default binding is the Delete key. If you find yourself stranded in VR, use the hotkey to get back to the training facility. This functionality is available both in and out of VR Training.
All vehicle upgrades, suit upgrades, abilities and weapon attachments are available and at the maximum rank while in the zone, regardless of the player's current certifications.
Vehicles and MAX suits do not cost resources, nor do they require or start acquisition timers.
No player stats are recorded while in VR.
Experience and medals cannot be earned while in VR.
Players cannot hurt each other or their vehicles in VR, but can hurt themselves.
Shooting or destroying friendly target dummies while in VR does not net grief points but will still show the grief indicator and play the grief sound.
Respawning has no time delay.
Weapon trials cannot be obtained while in this area - you already have access to every weapon!
Note that consumables still cost resources and deplete the player's inventory when used while in VR. This will be altered in a future update.
View ArticleServer Transfers
We are not transferring characters between servers at this time, though this option may become available in the future. Be very very sure that you want to play on a certain server before unloading a gazillion Daybreak Cash on a character. You might lose it all should your outfit decide to switch servers.
Account Transfers
Characters cannot be transferred between Daybreak Accounts. Please make sure you are logged in on the Daybreak Account you want to use for the long run before spending Daybreak Cash on a character. Yes, that kind of commitment is a scary thing but we think you can handle it.
Faction Transfers
Characters cannot be transferred between Empires. That would make it, like, crazy easy to cheat.
View ArticleFinding Purchased Items
If you do not see an item you've purchased in your inventory, it may simply be hiding.
To find a purchased item, go to an Equipment Terminal and select your class. Choose a Loadout, then go to the appropriate item category. All available items in that category will be listed there. Refer to our instructions on Character and Vehicle Customization to learn more about equipping items.
After selecting the purchased item(s), click Resupply or Deploy and the item(s) will be equipped on your character/vehicle.
View ArticleShould you become stuck, or lost, or just confused, above all remain calm. Press M to access the Map, then click Redeploy. In ten seconds you will be able to access the Deployment screen and select a spot to respawn.
Or just sit tight and one of our trained Personnel Remmobilization Experts will be along shortly with a grenade.
Occasionally, Command receives reports of soldiers becoming stuck in the Auraxis landscape. Tests have determined that this is due to the unusually adhesive surface of the planet and NOT faulty boot soles.

View ArticleVisit the Depot to purchase weapons, armor and supplies that are not included in the standard issue kit. Everything in the Depot can be unlocked with certs or Daybreak Cash. Be sure to check out the Weapons sections for some killer deals.
Accessing the Depot
Hit Esc to access the in-game menu, then click the Empire-marked Depot tab (the yellow one):
Choose a category of items from the tabs on the left of the screen and browse until the perfect one shows itself. Use the Search All bar at the top to search the entire store in an instant. Use the filter tool on the left to narrow down the visible options.
Purchasing Items
Preview and compare items using the panel on the right. Click Unlock under an item to bring up its Item Purchase window:
Most Items may be purchased with cert points or Daybreak Cash (though some can only be bought with Daybreak Cash). Click Unlock under the option you prefer to purchase the item. If you have a Daybreak Cash coupon code you want to use, be sure to enter it here. Be sure to select the payment option (certs or Daybreak Cash) that you want to use.
Once purchased, the item will appear in your inventory and must be equipped at an Equipment Terminal. Note that in most cases, only one item per inventory slot can be equipped at any given time.
IMPORTANT: all items purchased or unlocked from the Depot will only be accessible to the character that purchased them. Purchases cannot be transferred between characters, even on the same account.
Premium Early Access
This area is no longer available. Upcoming items can be trialed on the public test server.
Single-Use Items
Certain aesthetic items are one-time use only. These items are available at a very discounted price compared to the permanent version of the same item. They can only be equipped once, and will disappear when you equip another item in the same slot. Read more tips on single-use items here.
Weapon Trials
If you are unsure of what a weapon does or if it's really worth your hard-earned certs, take it out for a test run first. Open the weapon's Item Purchase window and click Try Now at the bottom. The weapon will automatically appear in your inventory with a timer counting down to the end of the trial. The weapon will be automatically removed from your inventory the next time you die after the timer runs out.
After testing a gun you cannot test it again for 30 days, and cannot test any other weapon for 8 hours.

FAQ
What if keys can no longer be reassigned?
If you are no longer able to change the keybinding, you will need to clear your UI files. To do so, delete the "UserOptions.ini" file from your PlanetSide 2 folder, located here: C:\Users\Public\Daybreak Game Company\Installed Games\PlanetSide 2.
View ArticleTutorial
All new soldiers will automatically be sent to a tutorial instance for battle training. This will cover the most basic mechanics of fighting the war.
Players can exit the tutorial at any time by hitting Esc and clicking Exit Tutorial in the top right of the menu screen.
The tutorial can be reentered at any time by hitting Esc and clicking the Support button in the lower left of the menu. In the small window that opens, click Start Tutorial.
Progress in the tutorial can be cleared by going to the General Settings screen and checking Reset Tutorial.
Redeployment
Soldiers killed in battle can simply enter the regeneration matrix and get right back out to the fight to die again. After death you will be taken to the World Map and allowed to select how and where you want to spawn. The Deployment panel (below) lists all current options for redeployment. Lattice-enabled continents have unique respawn rules; learn more here.
Instant Action
Sometimes the situation on the ground requires a more immediate response.
Instant Action triggers a hotdrop directly into the fiercest battles happening across the planet right now.
Each hotdrop activates a cooldown period during which the soldier cannot hotdrop again.
Instant Action can be triggered by hitting Delete at any time or by selecting Instant Action from the Respawn tab.
Warpgates
Each Empire has one warpgate per continent.
The warpgate is a safe zone where soldiers can swap classes and change loadouts at Equipment Terminals, group up into Squads and Platoons, launch every type of vehicle and plan offensives.
Toilets are on the way, but in the meantime just hold it until you see a dead enemy.
Spawn Rooms
Only members of the Empire that owns a base can enter its spawn rooms. Spawn room doors are color-coded to the correct Empire, so pay attention.
Yellow "trapdoor" spawn room exits such as the one below can only be passed through from one direction: from inside the spawn room to outside.
Pain Fields
Soldiers who remain too long in spawn rooms after a base has flipped, or who get too close to an enemy spawn room, will receive constantly increasing damage until they leave the spawn area.
Pain fields on facility spawnrooms will be deactivated if the facility's SCU is destroyed.
Friends and Enemies
Every friendly unit and identified enemy units in the vicinity are marked on each soldier's HUD and minimap.
By default, friendlies are marked by a light blue symbol and enemies by a red symbol.
These settings can be changed to match your personal preference in the General tab of the Settings menu.
Squad Colors
Squad and platoon mates will display circles with colors corresponding to their assigned squads and numbers corresponding to their positions within their squads.
Squad colors can be altered to suit your personal preference from the Squad/Platoon screen.
Remember, bullets don't have friends so pay attention when you're shooting. Traitors will have their guns taken away and be forced to sit out snack time.
View ArticleGeneral Information
Items must be (or have been) purchased with Daybreak Cash to be unlocked for the account. Items unlocked with certs will only be usable by the character that unlocked them.
Common pool items are available to all characters on your account. Empire-specific weapons are only available to characters on the appropriate faction.
Consumable items may only be used on the character that purchased them. This applies to boosts.
FAQ - What Is and Isn't Included?
Claimed items
Only items purchased from the in-game marketplace with Daybreak Cash are eligible, so items that have been claimed from purchase codes will remain unlocked only for the character that used the code. This includes claimed items from nVidia bundles, Gamestop SC cards, etc.
Faction-specific items
Certain items have the same name across factions, but can only be used for the faction that purchased them. For instance, the M12 Kobalt is available to all factions, but a Kobalt purchased for a Magrider is not the same as a Kobalt purchased for a Prowler, and therefore is not usable by all factions. All faction-specific items are marked in the Depot by an Empire symbol.
Vehicle customization items
Vehicle customizations like decals and rims follow the same rules as other non-consumable faction-specific and common pool items. Faction-specific items, like hubcaps and lumifiber trims, will only be unlocked for characters of the appropriate Empire. Common pool items, like most decals and tire spikes, will be unlocked for all characters.
Items unlocked for multiple characters
Refunds are not currently available for cases of the same item having been previously purchased for multiple characters.
View ArticleSoldiers can upgrade their weapons, armor and abilities by unlocking certifications. Certifications are unlocked with cert points earned for in-game actions.
Earning Points
Active Certs: Cert points are issued based on battlefield performance. Soldiers can earn experience by scoring kills, capturing facilities and performing class-specific duties at an exceptional level. Every 250 XP earned will yield one cert point.
Passive Certs: Soldiers will still earn certs while offline - apparently some of you can't be fighting constantly due to other "jobs" - but these certs are not unlimited. Passive certs max out at a certain number per day (12 is standard, though members receive them at a higher rate). Players must claim their passive certs by logging in to the game, and will earn no more than one day's worth of passive certs between logins. A notification will appear when entering the game displaying the total amount of passive certs earned since the last login.
Cert Point Cap: Cert points can only be earned up to a total of 10,000. Once this cap is reached, soldiers won't earn any more cert points until they've spent some.
Cert Trees: Cert trees are available for every class and weapon, as well as for accomplished Squad leaders. The trees can be accessed from the Certifications tab in the menu or from the Loadout page.
Click any class or vehicle on this page to open its cert tree, contaning all available certification categories. Open a certification category to view the available certifications.
Unlocking Certifications
Opening any certification category will open a menu similar to the one below. In this case, all of the available certifications under Engineer: Explosives are displayed. Mouse over a certification to view its description, and click it to spend cert points and unlock it. Most certifications can be upgraded multiple times to unlock additional features.
Red item prices indicate that the item costs more cert points than you have available, or that you need to spend more points in that category first. Some certifications can only be unlocked if other certifications have been unlocked first.
Note that not all certifications will carry over to all classes. Only certs under Universal Certifications or that affect weapons that are shared by more than one class will apply across classes. Any certification with a class label (e.g. Engineer: Suit Modifications) can be applied only to that class.
Certification Refunds
There are no refunds on certifications, so be very sure before unlocking one. Don't waste cert points on a class you aren't going to use, or a skill you don't really want, or a gun that you hate. All certifications are available at their max level to try out for free in Virtual Reality Training.

Insult them like an adult soldier, throw a grenade at their face!

Use common sense, play by the book, follow the rules we have, and don’t act like a slimy enemy maggot! Rules of Conduct
Our goal at Daybreak Game Company is for every player to have an enjoyable gaming experience! To help ensure that everyone has fun playing, we have some policies that we expect all players to follow. In the interest of keeping the game fun for all, the following are the basic rules of conduct that govern player interaction and activity within PlanetSide 2 and in the official PlanetSide 2 forums. Failure to act responsibly and comply with these rules within PlanetSide 2 and the official PlanetSide 2 forums may result in disciplinary action against players up to and including account suspensions or termination.
Users may not harass or threaten other players or the support staff.
Users may not use any sexually explicit, harmful, threatening, abusive, defamatory, obscene, hateful, sexist, racially or ethnically offensive language.
Users may not impersonate any Daybreak Game Company employee.
Users may not violate any local, state, national or international law or regulation.
Users may not modify any part of the PlanetSide 2 Client, Server or any part of any PlanetSide 2 web page or web site, including the PlanetSide 2 home page located at www.planetside2.com.
Users may not arrange for the exchange or transfer of any pirated or illegal software while on PlanetSide 2 or any PlanetSide 2 web site or web page.
Users will follow the instructions of authorized personnel, including Daybreak Game Company Customer Service personnel, while in PlanetSide 2 or on the Official PlanetSide Forums.
Users may not organize nor be a member of any outfits, squads, platoons or other groups within PlanetSide 2 that are based on, or espouse, any racist, sexist, anti-religious, anti-ethnic, anti-gay, or other hate-mongering philosophy, or are otherwise deemed to be offensive, illegal, pornographic, or objectionable, in DBG's sole and absolute discretion.
Users may not give false information or intentionally hide any information when registering for their PlanetSide 2 account.
Users will not upload or transmit on PlanetSide 2, or on any PlanetSide 2 web site or web page any copyrighted content that they do not own all rights to, unless they have the express written permission of the author or copyright holder.
Users will not attempt to interfere with, hack into, or decipher any transmissions to or from the servers running PlanetSide 2.
Users will not exploit any bug in PlanetSide 2 and will not communicate the existence of any such exploitable bug (including bugs that grant the user unnatural or unintended benefits in game), either directly or through public posting, to any other user of PlanetSide 2. Users will promptly report any such activity to Customer Service with a petition and to the Developers through an in-game bug report.
Users will not use any known or unknown "exploits" (actions that grant the user unintended or unnatural benefits in game or that are otherwise contrary to the spirit of the game or what the developers intended) and users will not communicate the existence of any such exploit, either directly or through public posting, to any other user of PlanetSide 2. Such activities include any sort of boosting, stat padding and kill trading. Users will promptly report any such activity to Customer Service with a petition and to the Developers through an in-game bug report.
Users will not either individually or together with their squad, outfit, or other groups, engage in any intentional "griefing" of your fellow players. Griefing includes the repeated killing of selected players or groups of players within their own empire or any other grief activity that DBG deems inappropriate in its sole and absolute discretion.
Users will not attempt to play PlanetSide 2 on any server that is not controlled or authorized by Daybreak Game Company, or its designees.
Users will not create, use or provide any server emulator or other site where PlanetSide 2 may be played, and will not post or distribute any utilities, emulators or other software tools related to PlanetSide 2 without the express written permission of Daybreak Game Company.
Account Security, in any form, is the sole responsibility of the account creator. Any compromised or stolen account may be suspended during the course of the investigation and may remain suspended until the account in question is verified and secured through the Technical Support Department. If the perpetrator of the theft is found, any and/or all of their accounts may be subjected to account suspension or termination due to their involvement.
Orders chat is for Empire strategic coordination only. This is not an appropriate channel for recruiting. Fellow Senior Officers in your Empire will thank you.
Users will not recruit for their Outfit in public channels. Chat channels such as Yell, Orders, and Regional are for Empire coordination and intercommunication. Users should keep recruitment confined to private tells with interested parties and platoon/squad channels for the case of Outfit-run platoons/squads.
Users will not link websites in public chat channels. If you want to share links, such as your Outfit website, with your fellow soldiers it needs to be confined to private messages with interested parties and platoon/squad channels.
Users will not play music over voice channels. This is a combat environment with no room for Disc Jockeys.
View ArticleIMPORTANT: Customer Support cannot change a character name. This is non-negotiable. Be extremely certain that the name you pick is the name you want before creating a character.
Listen up, maggots. Senior Drill Sergeant Hicks here! Members of my beloved Outfit can choose their own names when they create their avatar. These names will not go through an approval process. You can also create Outfits (guilds) and Squads (groups) for which you can also choose a custom name, available instantly.
Be warned, though! I know who you are, and if you choose some slimy inappropriate name, DBG Outfit Officials will change it! In addition - and you need to read this carefully - we will NOT, that's N.O.T. - give you the opportunity to change that name. So, unless you want to be stuck as Bunny Foofoo, make the right choice the first time ant brain.
We may also take action on your account including but not limited to a permanent warning, suspension from game play for a period of time, or a definitive ban from the game.
Names are on a first come first served basis. Period. If you had the name Ilovemymum in every game you've ever played then you're going to want to get here early in front of all the other people who love their mums too. If someone else has the name you wanted, customer service will not be helping you get the name "back".
Here are some Naming Policy Rules for this reason. You’ll learn them by the numbers, and apply them. Show me that military intelligence among you low-life maggots actually exists!
Naming guidelines apply to all of the following:
Character names
Outfit names
Squad names
Names created in any language
Names that may not have been submitted with inappropriate intent
Names in PlanetSide 2 should reflect the genre of the game; original names are highly desired.
When choosing a name, imagine saying it in front of me. I will beat you if it doesn’t make me smile or it doesn’t gain you a sliver of my respect. I love a joke the same as anyone ha ha! but some names are downright vulgar, crude, profane, or derogatory. You’re meant to be adults, act like one!
Remember the ultimate goal. This is war! PlanetSide 2 is an intense, fast paced, dynamic MMO FPS. You maggots will dominate with your skill, strategy, and firepower alone! No need to choose a name that harasses or demeans others. Besides, you won’t have time to read names, you’ll be pounding dirt and obliterating the enemy, won’t you? So make those names ones to be proud of!
If we don’t like it, we will change it! DBG Outfit personnel will see it, and will change it. And we won't give you the opportunity to pick something else; we'll just change it and you'll be stuck as Fluffy Bunny forever - your fault, not ours. Create a new character if you don't like the name we gave you, but don't you scumbags insult me and MY beloved Outfit by choosing another inappropriate name! Keep doing it and we'll take action on your account, not just your character.
In case the options above weren’t clear enough, here’s a more complete list of what’s not allowed in PlanetSide 2:
The following types of names are not allowed in PlanetSide 2; names and use of these types of names may result in them being changed by an DBG Employee with or without warning:
Vile, profane, rude, homophobic, sexist, or racist names including profanity, sexual preference, sexual innuendo, anatomical references, racial slurs, and homonyms of these words. Common sense people, common sense.
Combinations of words that produce an offensive result that crosses a line. You know the line.
Names chosen with the intent or possessed with the effect of harming the reputation of others, to harass others, or used to impersonate a Customer or representative of Daybreak Game Company.
Names containing significant religious, political, historic origin figures or words (e.g. Jesus, Allah, Satan, Stalin, God, Nazi). We’re not too worried about names such as Blueangel, or Daredevil, Godlike or other such uncreative names, but you can’t run around with a religious figure as your or in your name or words being used in a religious sense (e.g., HolyGod - get the difference?).
We also don’t need to see Obama, Bush, Churchill and other politicians from around the world in our game, we see them enough outside. Yawn keep your politics and religion outta this war.
Names where the combination of any names violates a previous rule (AwesomeJax Sucks). What a stupid name.
No accented or alternative letters will be allowed in character or outfit names.
In-game titles or achievements names will not be allowed in a name (e.g. Commander Jack, BR8-Monster).
No websites. Don’t try to make www.ilovemyself.com as your name.
No hardcore drug references. Potheads aren’t in our units; they don’t shoot straight, or enough.
For all of the above, misspellings and alternative spellings of the word or words are also unacceptable.
View ArticleWar is above all a gentleman's game and we prefer that you behave as such. Soldiers who do not respect the PlanetSide 2 Code of Conduct (cheating, harassment, etc) will not be tolerated and should be reported to the proper authorities.
Reporting Violations:
To file a report, you'll need to submit a petition on our support site to start the help request process. When filling out the request, make sure to select the in-game support option, PlanetSide 2 as your game, and "report another player" as your Category.
When filling out the details for your request, please include the following:
The character name of the player you are reporting
The offense type
The date/time of the incident
Your character's name
A detailed description of the incident, with as much supporting information as possible
A screenshot and/or link to video evidence in support of your case, if available
Please note: You will not be notified of any action taken or not taken against a reported account. Note that we do not take this lightly. All reported players are investigated, but so are the players doing the reporting. We can't be a pawn in some silly personal vendetta now, can we?
Depending on the severity of the violation and the history of the account, disciplinary action may range from a warning, to an account suspension, up to a permanent ban.
Above all, act mature out there. Make sure that the player you're reporting has actually and blatantly violated the Code of Conduct before letting that report trigger finger fly. Disputes are always best settled out on the battlefield, after all. Note that we will never inform other players of a reported player's status.
View ArticleAll classes except the Max come equipped with a pistol and knife in addition to their specialized gear. Just needed to point that out. Carry on.
Infiltrator
Infiltrators, like children, should be neither seen nor heard. All Infiltrators are rigorously trained in the arts of stealth and sabotage. Seriously, they’re really good. We sent a few of them out for coffee six months ago and haven't heard from them since.
Default equipment/skills:
Sniper Rifle
IFF Gun (Enemy tagger)
Personal Cloak
Hacking Ability (Can convert enemy terminals and turrets to friendly control)
Light Assault
We took a bunch of soldiers up in a Galaxy, pushed them out and made them rely on their wits to survive. That didn't work, so we had to issue jetpacks to the next batch.
Default equipment/skills:
Carbine
Jump Jets
Flash/Smoke Grenades (Available through certs)
Combat Medic
Medics have been relieved of the old stitches and scalpels and glue or whatever they used to use and been given the very latest in human regeneration technology instead. Honestly, we have no idea how it works but there haven’t been many complaints so far.
Default equipment/skills:
Assault Rifle
Medical Applicator (Healing gun: heals and revives fallen allies. Does not revive Max units)
Nano-Regen Device (Aura healer)
Engineer
Engineers are highly trained gearheads who keep the battle running smoothly. Think of them as personal battlefield butlers.
Default equipment:
Carbine
Nano Armor Kit (Repair gun: fixes vehicles, heals and revives Max units)
ACE Tool (Dispenses ammo boxes, deploys into a Daybreakary turret, generates an AOE damage blocking shield)
Heavy Assault
Every meat churner needs some meat to churn, and Heavy Assaults are happy to provide it. Their training consists of running naked through a hallway while other soldiers swat them with rubber paddles, so they can definitely take a beating.
Default equipment/skills:
Light Machine Gun
Anti-vehicle Rocket Launcher
Nanite Mesh Generator (Enhanced shield)
MAX
(Mechanized Assault Exo-Suit for those who care)
Feel like a monster and look like a tank! No, scratch that. Reverse it. Either way. A Max unit is basically a human supernova. Legend has it that the first Max was the offspring of a grizzly bear and a nuclear missile. That’s probably not true but when you see one you just might believe it.
Default equipment/skills:
Heavy Machine Gun
Anti-aircraft Flak Cannon
Anti-vehicle Burster Cannon
Charge (Sprint burst)
A few notes on the Max:
Max suits are not available on deployment. After deploying go to an equipment terminal to swap to a Max.
Medics are not trained to work on the Max suit. They have limited technical expertise and would probably only end up making things worse. Engineers are the only class qualified to heal Maxes.
Soldiers in Max suits cannot capture control points.
Max weapons are equipped to either the right or left arm, not both.
Each basic weapon has a default arm designation, but each weapon has a version for the non-default arm as well.
Alternate weapons must be purchased in the Depot. For example, the TR Max's primary weapon is the M1 Cycler, a heavy machine gun that is attached to the left arm by default.
If you want to dual wield Cyclers, or attach one to the right arm and a different weapon to the left, you will have to unlock the M1 Cycler [Right] from the Depot.

If you don’t want to see messages from another player all you need to do is type /ignore and the name of the player you wish to ignore. If you want to ignore Super Man, you just type /ignore “Super Man.” You can check on players that you have ignored by opening your Social menu (F4 on the PC) and finding your Ignored list.

If you no longer wish to listen to another player in voice chat, all you need to do is open the Social menu (F4 on PC) and open Recent Voice. THE FOLLOWING ARE THE BASIC RULES OF CONDUCT THAT GOVERN PLAYER INTERACTION AND ACTIVITY WITHIN DC UNIVERSE ONLINE AND IN THE OFFICIAL DC UNIVERSE ONLINE FORUMS. FAILURE TO ACT RESPONSIBLY AND COMPLY WITH THESE RULES WITHIN DC UNIVERSE ONLINE AND THE OFFICIAL DC UNIVERSE ONLINE FORUMS WILL RESULT IN DISCIPLINARY ACTION, WHICH MAY RESULT IN THE TERMINATION OF ALL YOUR DBG ACCOUNTS WITHOUT ANY REFUND OF ANY KIND AND REFUSAL OF SERVICE TO ALL PRESENT AND FUTURE DBG PRODUCTS.
1. You may not harass or threaten other players (sexually, racially, or otherwise).
Harassment is defined as any unwanted or unwelcome behavior beyond the limits of good taste and appropriate game context. Final determination of harassment and severity will be made by a GM and their Supervisor after a thorough investigation to ensure that each violation is treated fairly and objectively.
Harassment will result in disciplinary action being taken against the offending account. Such action may include official warnings, account suspensions, or account terminations. The exact action depends on the severity of the incident which will be determined by a GM and a Lead GM. Multiple suspensions or account termination will result in the termination of all DBG accounts. Sexual/Racial harassment or hate mongering will lead to the immediate termination of all DBG accounts.
2. You may not use any sexually explicit, harmful, threatening, abusive, defamatory, obscene, hateful, racially or ethnically offensive language, in any language. The presence of any form of preventative filter or other game features is not license or permission, tacit or otherwise, to use such language in any form.
The use of offensive language will result in disciplinary action being taken against the account that may include official warnings, account suspensions, or account termination depending on the severity of the incident which will be determined by a GM and Lead GM. Multiple suspensions or account terminations will result in the termination of all DBG accounts.
3. You may not impersonate any Daybreak Game Company employee, past or present, including any Customer Support personnel.
This includes any form of parody, jest, or attempt to deflect other customers for fear of action being taken against their account.
Impersonation of the above outlined personnel will result in disciplinary action being taken against the account that may include official warnings or account suspensions depending on the severity of the incident which will be determined by a GM and a Supervisor. Multiple suspensions or account terminations will result in termination of all DBG accounts.
4. You may not violate any local, state, national or international law or regulation.
5. You may not arrange for the exchange or transfer of any pirated or illegal software while on DC Universe Online or the DC Universe Online Web site or forums.
6. We reserve the right, but not the responsibility, to restrict conduct that we deem, in our absolute and sole discretion, to be harmful to individual members, damaging to the service, or in violation of our or any third party's rights. We further reserve the right to prohibit or delete conduct, communication, or content transmitted on DBG services that is deemed to be in violation of applicable laws or is harmful to other members, the DC Universe Online service community, or the rights of Daybreak Game Company in general. You also may not organize or be a member of any player association which habitually violates the DC Universe Online Terms of Service and/or Game/Forum rules and policies.
Organization or membership within such associations, Leagues, Legions, or groups participating in said actions may result in disciplinary action being taken against your account. Such action may include official warnings, account suspensions, or account terminations depending on the severity of the incident. Penalties will be determined by a GM and a Lead GM. Multiple suspensions or account terminations may result in the termination of all DBG accounts.

Further, you will not communicate the existence of any such exploitable bug (including bugs that grant the user unnatural or unintended benefits in game), either directly or through public posting, to any other user of DC Universe Online. You will promptly report any such bug via the in-game "bug" reporting function.
14. You will not create, use or provide any server emulator or other site where DC Universe Online may be played, and you will not post or distribute any utilities, emulators or other software tools related to DC Universe Online without the express written permission of Daybreak Game Company.
Discovery of the use or creation of said programs will result in the termination of all DBG accounts.
15. You will follow the instructions of authorized personnel while in DC Universe Online or on the Official DC Universe Online Forums. Failure to follow instructions from official support personnel may result in disciplinary action being taken against your account. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In addition to the general guidelines listed in the aforementioned article, players are also subject to these supplementary rules while playing DC Universe Online. While by no means an all-inclusive list of the do's and don'ts in DC Universe Online, it provides a suitable foundation by which the player can determine what activities are appropriate:
1. Foul language is not permitted, in any language.
Excessive use of foul language including swear words (including their commonly-used abbreviations), real-world racial slurs, and other language that is designed to cause grief, will be considered a disruption. The existence of any chat/text filtering function is not a license to be profane.
2. To expound upon the general guidelines, you may not harass other customers.
Harassment is defined as specifically targeting another player or group of players to harm or inconvenience them. Harassment can take many forms, as it goes to the perceived state-of-mind of the person or group of persons initiating the action. However, in order to account for those who are more sensitive than others, the GM involved will make a determination as to whether or not the reported issue would be considered harassment and act accordingly. Sexual/racial harassment or hatemongering of any kind will result in the immediate termination of all DBG accounts if sufficient and proper evidence is available and verified.
3. You may not disrupt the normal playability of a game world area.
Area Disruption is defined as any activity, intentional or unintentional, which harms or inconveniences a larger number of players. Causing a disruption may result in disciplinary action being taken against the account that may include official warnings, account suspensions, or account terminations depending on the severity of the incident which will be determined by a GM and a Lead GM. Multiple suspensions or account termination will result in the termination of all DBG accounts.
Disruption includes, but is not limited to, such things such as:
Deliberately blocking a doorway or narrow area so other players cannot get past.
Making excessive and inappropriate use of the various communications tools available to players, i.e. spamming.
Large groups of players using graphically intense abilities in small areas intended to cause game and/or video lag for other players.*
Organizing, holding, or participating in group events with the sole purpose of inconveniencing/disrupting other players, on-going events, or DBG staff functions.
4. You may not defraud other players.
Fraud is defined as falsely representing one's intentions to make a gain at another's expense. Examples of this activity include but are not limited to - offering to assist another players for in-game currency then leaving the area without holding up your end of the bargain, using flaws or bugs in a trade window to deprive someone of one or more of their items or currency. These examples are not all inclusive, other violations will be reviewed by Customer Service on a case by case basis.
Defrauding other customers will result in the removal of earnings or equivalent goods from your accounts, and may result in disciplinary action being taken against the account that may include official warnings, account suspensions, or account terminations depending on the severity of the incident which will be determined by a GM and a Lead GM. Multiple suspensions or account termination will result in the termination of all DBG accounts.
5. You may not operate a League/Legion that habitually violates these rules.
Disciplinary issues involving Leagues/Legions will also be addressed on a broader basis. Leagues/Legions whose members habitually violate any of the Terms of Service, Rules of Conduct, or Play Nice Policies may be disbanded. In addition, monopolizing numerous spawn areas with the intent to exclude other players will not be permitted. If investigated and verified by a GM, monopolizing will result in the disbanding of the League/Legion. As stated in Rules of Conduct section 8, League/Legion leaders who condone, participate in, or knowingly allow such action may be held accountable for the actions of their members.
6. You may not intentionally circumvent the player-versus-player combat features or cause another player to die with non player-versus-player tactics, such as by "training" them.
Training is defined as pulling/leading a hostile NPC or creature along behind you and attempting to get it to attack another player who does not desire that engagement.
The intentional training of NPCs or Creatures will result in immediate disciplinary action when witnessed by a GM, or if sufficient evidence is available. We are aware that accidents often happen causing unintentional trains, and will scrutinize each report of this activity closely.
7. You may not abuse other players, customer service representatives, or the tools provided to request support.
The following is a short list of things that would be considered "abuse" in game:
Hate Mongering - participation in or propagation of hate literature, behavior, or propaganda related to real -world characteristics.
Sexual Abuse or Harassment - untoward and unwelcome advances of a graphic and sexual nature. This includes virtual rape, overt sexual overtures, and stalking of a sexual nature.
Attempting to Defraud a CS Representative requesting assistance from CS with untrue information or with the intention of receiving benefits as a result. This includes reporting bug deaths, item loss, or fraudulently accusing other players of wrongdoing.
Impersonating a Customer Service Representative - falsely representing yourself to another player as a DBG GM or other DBG, DC, or Warner Bros. employee.
CS Personnel Abuse -- sending excessive unsolicited tells to a CS Representative, excessively using say or other channels to communicate to a CS Representative, making physical threats, using abusive language against a CS Representative
Submitting inappropriate or spamming CS tickets Submitting tickets with abusive language and/or profanity or continual submission of CS tickets regarding any issue which Customer Service has already determined is closed.
Using Threats of Retribution by GM Friends - attempting to convince another player that they have no recourse in a disagreement because favoritism is shown to one of the parties by the DBG or DC staff.
Please note that this list is not all inclusive and a GM and/or a Lead GM may determine that other actions are considered abuse. This will be done on a case by case review.
Abuse of others will result in disciplinary action being taken against the account that may include official warnings, account suspensions, or account terminations depending on the severity of the incident which will be determined by a GM and a Lead GM. Multiple suspensions or account termination will result in the termination of all DBG accounts.
8. "Roleplaying" does not grant license to violate these rules.
Though DC Universe Online is a roleplaying game set in the DC Comics universe, the claim of "roleplay" will not be accepted in defense of any of the anti-social behaviors mentioned above. By all means we want to encourage you to play your role, we just cannot allow that role-play to be done at another customer's expense.
9. Terminated and Banned accounts will have all properties and belongings removed.
Please note that the Customer Service Manager's decision on all matters is final.

PS4 Missing Marketplace Cash or Legendary status
If you recently purchased Marketplace Cash or a Legendary subscription and have not received it yet, please be aware that it may not automatically update. Legendary status and Marketplace Cash may take up to 24 hours. Try logging out of the game completely for 15 minutes and then check to see if it updates. If not, please open a support ticket: https://help.daybreakgames.com/hc/en-us/articles/218172118.
PSN: Did Not Receive Legendary Status
When purchasing a membership on the PSN, the membership entitlement may time out based on how busy the PSN is. Don't fear though, if you log completely out of both DCUO and the PlayStation Network and remain offline for 5 minutes, when you log back in the membership entitlement will be resent. This issue resolves itself 100\% of the time and there is unfortunately no way for a Daybreak Games employee to force the entitlement to be resent.
Membership/Loyalty: I Did Not Get My Replay Badges / Loyalty Rewards
Once you have ensure that your billing is set to recurring, please check your actual subscription date. Nearly all of these cases are actually not bugs, but simply subscription dates that have not yet been eclipsed again. You should receive them once a month and usually (but not always) it’s on the same date each month. For more information on loyalty points/replay badges, go here: https://help.daybreakgames.com/hc/en-us/articles/231254288.
Marketplace, Accidental Purchases and Buyer's Remorse
Customer service cannot assist with any Marketplace purchases that have not failed (i.e. accidental purchases or buyer’s remorse). If you succeed in purchasing anything; an item, character slot, bank slot, replay badges, etc., the purchase is final. Please review your purchase before you confirm it and research what you are purchasing before finalizing the purchase to be 100\% sure you are getting what you want.
Item Restoration and Item Exchanges
Please be aware that customer service will only restore items lost due to major service outages that result in character rollbacks. All other lost/deleted/sold/salvaged items will need to be regained through normal game mechanics. Any accidentally purchased items, or items that you dislike cannot be exchanged. Anything you purchase is final, so please take a moment to ensure you are buying exactly what you want.
We now have a feature in-game that allows you to purchase any of the last 20 items you’ve deleted for 100 Daybreak Cash/Marketplace Cash. Select the green trash can in your inventory to get started.
Deleted Characters
Please take the utmost care when deleting your character. If you delete the wrong character customer service will not be able to restore it. If a character is deleted the only option is to start a new character or use the Restore Character option.Characters can be restored for 500 Daybreak Cash/Marketplace Cash using the character restore option.
There are some cases where characters were deleted due to crossplay. If youare certain you didn’t delete your characters, please contact customer service so we can help.
Missions / Tasks / Feats
Please be aware that customer service will no longer update any mission, task, or feat that you may be having issues with. We suggest searching community sites and asking other community members about the issue to ensure you are doing it correctly. If you believe the mission, task, or feat is bugged you may want to post on the forumsor report it on the Community Bug Tracker Site here: https://dgcissuetracker.com/secure/Dashboard.jspa?selectPageId=11111.
Respec Tokens (Power/Body/Movement)
Be sure to be extremely careful when using a token to adjust your character. Any modification made to your character with power, body, or movement tokens are final. They will not be changed by customer service. If you are unhappy with the results of your modifications you will need to purchase a new token to revert the changes.
Stuck Character
If your character has become physically stuck in the game please use the warp to headquarters/base/rally function built into the game. If that fails, please contact customer service and we will log into the character to move it to your rally point, headquarters, or base.
Character Transfers & PSG Migrations
DC Universe Online currently has no character transfer service. Unfortunately there is no manual counterpart for this either. If you wish to play on another server you will need to makea new character.
PSG Migrations have also ended. We have extended the dead line multiple times. If you have not yet migrated your account we welcome you to start a new account to play DCUO with. All old PSG accounts became unrecoverable as of 1/31/2015.
Name Changes
If you wish to change your characters name you will need to purchase a rename token from the Marketplace. Please be aware that if you choose a character name that violates our naming policy it will be changed to a random name. If you dislike the name you are given you will need to purchase a rename token.
If your league has a name that violates our naming policies one of two actions will be taken. For league names that are a minor violation the league name will be changed by customer service, to a new and final name, without any notice. For league names that are an extreme violation of our policies (Note: A few examples are hate speech / extreme sexual slurs) the league will be disbanded. Disbanded leagues will lose every item in their league hall, nothing will be restored. Choose your names wisely!
League Leadership
Customer service cannot assist in changing the leadership of a league. At times all the league leaders may stop playing. If that happens we suggest you try to contact your leaders outside of the game or to simply make a new league.
Reward Mail Delays
Some customers may not have received their rewards for investigations, briefings, or collections right away. Please wait at least an hour for incoming mail regarding any rewards you should have received from these tasks. We apologize for the inconvenience.
Accidental Use of Replay Badges
Please make sure the correct instance is selected before spending Replay Badges to unlock it as Customer Service will not be able to refund Replay Badges.
Reporting Rule Violations
If you come across another player breaking the rules, please report it by opening a support ticket with customer service. Be sure to put the category under “Report another player” so we can check into it right away. Our rules can be found here: https://help.daybreakgames.com/hc/en-us/articles/231138488.
My account is suspended or banned

View ArticleSome players may accidentally purchase items from NPCs or terminal vendors where Marks, loyalty points, and/or cash are required for the purchase. Please be aware that the DC Universe Online In-game Team will not be able to assist with refunds in these cases or exchange the item for a more preferred piece of gear.
View ArticleAccidental Use
Replay badges are a great way to experience the content of DC Universe Online at a quicker pace. However, some customers may accidentally use replay badges on the wrong duo, alert, raid or some other task. Unfortunately, the DC Universe Online In-game team is not providing refunds for badges used/lost in this manner.
In order to unlock an instance, make sure the correct instance is highlighted, click on the instance, and then choose the option to reset the instance with replay badges.
Disconnection
The In-game team will also not assist with customers who have disconnected while inside an instance in which replay badges were used. The character should still have access to the unlocked bosses and will be able to redo the instance.
View ArticleWhat are Loyalty Points and Skeets’ Legendary Emporium?
Loyalty Points are a currency unique to the PS3/PS4 and Xbox. Because Daybreak Cash is not used in the PS3/PS4 or Xbox Marketplace as it is on PC, this alternative currency and vendor allows PS3/PS4 or Xbox Legendary Members with recurring plans to also receive a similar stipend each month.
How can PS3/PS4 and Xbox players earn Loyalty Points?
500 Loyalty Points are given monthly to Legendary Members. Please be aware that the date for your Loyalty Point grant may not necessarily be the same date as your Replay Badge grant and you must log in each month to receive them.
Where and how can PS3/PS4 and Xbox players spend Loyalty Points?
PS3/PS4 and Xbox players can spend Loyalty Points at Skeets’ Legendary Emporium located in-game in safe houses and police stations.
What is available for purchase with Loyalty Points?
Most consumable items available in the Marketplace are also available for Loyalty Points at Skeets’ Legendary Emporium, including Respec Tokens. DLC Packs will be added in the future.
Will Legendary Memberships be available on Skeets’ Legendary Emporium?

View ArticleAn Armory is a type of base amenity that allows a player to set up and imprint a predetermined build for their character. A player can imprint their character's current style, equipment, loadouts, roles, power point, and skill point allocations to the Armory. By activating the Armory from in the field, a player can switch to this preset at the press of a button. Every character will receive one free Armory. Look for the "Your Armory" mission in you journal; players must complete the base task before the Armory task will become available.
Additional Armories can be purchased from the Marketplace and placing those additional Armories in a base gives a character the power to switch between multiple custom builds. The appearance of the Armory will match the theme of the base it is placed in. This item requires level 12 to use and can be shared-banked only to other characters on the same account. Each base owned can hold up to sixteen Armories (4 active). Please be aware that Armories function like regular base items and may not be placed in Amenity (purple) spots.
Using Armories
Interact with the Armory placed in a base to imprint a build. Players will not be able to imprint if a character has more than 10 unspent skill points and/or 3 unspent power points.
Players can only have four Armory builds equipped at any one time out in the field and can update which builds are equipped through the Generator in their base. Look for the "Lock and Load" mission in your journal.
To swap between builds for PS4, hold down both R2 and L2. This will bring up a UI that will show the D-Pad directions and the associated Armory Builds. For PC, Armory Builds can be swapped using the number keys on the Num Pad. While out of combat, a player can swap Armory Builds every ten seconds. However, while in combat, the player can only swap every ten minutes. Players will not be able to swap Armory Builds while in PvP combat.
How many can I have and where do they go?
-You can place your armory on any marker slot in your base or free place it.
-You can have only four active Armories per base; 16 total if you have the maximum of four bases.
-Players will be given one Armory through a mission; in order to receive the mission, players must complete their lair mission first. Additional Armories will need to be purchased from the Marketplace.
When and how can I use them?
-You can only have four Armories loaded at any one time; this is done through the generator (not the mainframe) in your base.
-You can switch between your armories at any time using either the L2+R2 on the controller or the 1-4 number pad on the keyboard; you do not need to be at your Armory to swap out.
-While in combat, players can only swap Armory Builds every ten minutes, which causes a red cool-down to appear next to your character's health/power bar. When an Armory Build is swapped out of combat, a yellow cool-down will appear next to your character.
Armories will not be accessible while in PVP combat.
-You cannot save or load an armory if there are more than ten unspent skill points and three unspent power points.
View ArticleMarketplace Cash
Marketplace is used to purchase Marketplace items on PS3/PS4 and Xbox. Instead of purchasing items directly using real world currency or funds from your PSN/Microsoft wallet, you will instead purchase Marketplace Cash with real world currency in the PSN/Xbox store, then use Marketplace Cash to purchase items in the game:
$5.00 - 500 Marketplace Cash
$10.00 - 1,000 Marketplace Cash
$20.00 - 2,000 Marketplace Cash
$45.00 - 5,000 Marketplace Cash
$85.00 - 10,000 Marketplace Cash
Marketplace Cash is similar to Daybreak Cash on the PC and will bring greater parity between the platforms in terms of pricing and our ability to run sales and promotions.
What should I do if I didn't receive my Marketplace Cash?
Once you purchase Marketplace Cash, it should appear in the upper right hand corner of your DC Universe Online In-Game Marketplace window. If your Marketplace Cash is missing, you will need to contact the PlayStation Network or contact Xbox Support so they may verify and assist you with the purchase.

In order to access the Test Server, Legendary PC members must download the test client here. Please be aware that any character or progress made on the Test Server will not influence any activity on the Live Servers. Any feedback may be provided on the Testing Feedback forum.
View ArticleWith the introduction of the Augment System equipment mods are no longer used to improve and upgrade gear. Any Total Recovery Kits remaining in your inventory can be ‘used’ and changed into Exobyte Boosters, which can be used to help boost your augments in the Fortify window.
View ArticleIn DC Universe Online, mail may be retrieved, composed, or sent at any mail terminal located in the Hall of Doom, the Justice Tower, Safe Houses, Police Stations, or any Lair Mail Amenity. These terminals will display a letter icon over them.
Once players have interacted with the terminal, they can choose to compose and send mail to other players as well as view mail sent to them in their inbox. Cash and tradable items may also be mailed to a player by choosing the "attach item" option. In order to view mail you have already sent, simply choose the "Sent" section at the top of the menu; the screen will display all previous mail sent on the left side box.
Mail received may only be held for 30 days, at which time it will be sent back to the sender. Any attachments that haven't been claimed in mail should be automatically placed into your character's inventory or overflow. The text of mail will also change color depending on the age of the mail; once the mail has become 30 days old, it is deleted and/or sent back:
White: Less than 25 days old
Yellow: Over 25 days old
Red: Over 28 days old
Depending on level of membership, mail may be held in the archive section so that it is never deleted. The age of each archived mail may be located in the right hand corner of the content screen.
These are the current archive limits for each membership:
Free: 10
Premium: 50
Legendary: 100
View ArticleAll DC Universe Online Heroes and Villains may create their own bases. Legendary members and owners of the Lair System DLC will receive two lair themes: "Gothic" and "Deco", as well as a theme for a smaller, limited "Dive" Hideout, which can be retrieved from your base Dispenser. Free members and non Lair System DLC owners will only receive the Dive theme. Look for "Home is Where Your Base Is" in your Mission Journal to receive your themes; continue the mission to receive one deed, which can be used for placing a base at an in-game address of your choice. The mission is granted at level 12 or higher. Other themes are available through the In-game Marketplace and will be available for use after consuming them; players will need to relocate their base in order to change themes. Please be aware there is a one hour lockout period after changing your Lair theme. Characters may own no more than four lairs and will no longer be able to purchase lair deeds from the marketplace upon reaching that limit.
Each base comes equipped with a Mainframe and a Dispenser which can be accessed inside the base. Players can unlock access to upgrades and temporary boosts by activating the Mainframe's Generator Power Cells; these unlocked boosts and abilities will create mods and devices which can be acquired in your Dispenser and equipped on your character. Each time you raise the rank of a mod or trinket with your mainframe, that new rank item may be located in your dispenser. Please be aware you may carry no more than four of the same mod or device; also be wary of the level of the device before dispensing it. Players can also set permissions through their Mainframe to allow friends and league mates to enter and help decorate their lair.
In addition, players are able to customize their base in many different ways using the Base Decoration Mode. Accessed via the control panel located near the entrance of your base, Decoration Mode is the place for arranging items throughout the base, customizing the colors of certain areas of the base, selecting your character's emblem to be displayed on a wall plaque, and renaming the base. Special characters (such as \%, &, or #) can't be used when naming bases and the name can't exceed more than two separate words; Super Fortress would be acceptable, but not Super Duper Fortress. Players can customize their base by adding items found throughout DC Universe Online, everything from couches, beds, and TVs to functioning equipment, like a Bank or R&D Station. Functional furniture, such as the bank and R&D Station, are amenities; each base may only hold four amenities, regardless of which the player chooses to use. Players with multiple bases may place four amenities in each base. Although friends may access amenities, only the lair owner will have access to the dispenser.
View ArticleSkill points allow players to further customize their characters by acquiring new weapon attacks, passive buffs, and travel power abilities. Skill points are acquired though leveling your character and by completing feats in DC Universe Online. Each feat will grant you a certain amount of Feat Points: 10, 25, or 50 points. Once you have earned a total of 100 Feat Points, your character is granted a new skill point which can be used to further increase their power. Please click Weapon Skills or Movement Skills for more information on utilizing your points.
Please be aware though the DC Universe Online support team may be able to investigate and possibly provide an explanation, they are not able to adjust skill points.
View ArticleSome feats are tied to specific roles (healer, tank etc.) and if you change your role along with your powers, you may lose access to those feats if they have not been completed. This is particularly important to note with style feats, which require armor that may be limited to a single role.
However, if you respec back to your previous role, the feat should become available again and will update to reflect your progress of any previously completed feats in other roles. Please make sure to relog your character before changing to any new role; this should allow you to maintain any new feats achieved for your previous role.
View ArticleThere are a number of instanced encounters within DC Universe Online that have 'loot lockout' timers associated with them. A loot lockout is applied once a character goes through and successfully completes for the 'first time' during a lockout period. (for PVP encounters, successful completion is a win) While the lockout is in place, the character can participate in the encounters again, but will not qualify for certain types of loot or rewards.
There are currently two lockout windows: the first is a 24 hour lockout, and expires/resets at 12:00AM Pacific each day. The second is a 7 day lockout - this resets each Thursday morning at 12:00AM Pacific time.
The following encounters have loot lockout timers associated with them:
Alerts (24 hours)
Raids (7 days)
Arena PVP (24 hours)
Legends PVP (7 days)
Duos (24 hours)
DLC 8 Bounties (7 days)
Each of these encounters can have their loot lockout timers removed by using Replay Badges. There is currently no limit to the number of times a lockout timer can be reset with the use of Replay Badges. These badges can be purchased from the in-game Marketplace (PC / DaybreakCash) or from Skeet's Emporium. (PS3 / Loyalty Points) These are also granted monthly to Legendary players with a recurring membership.
View ArticleIn order to avoid sending mail to the wrong character, we advise double checking the spelling and spacing of the character name before sending any valuable items or cash. Customer service will not assist with mail sent to the wrong character.
If items or cash were sent to a player/account which is currently active (has logged in recently), you will need to contact that player in order to receive the items back.
As part of the mail deletion process, attachments sent to friends that were never claimed are returned to the original owner. The attached items from those messages will be automatically placed into your inventory. If there is not enough room for the attached items, it will go into an inventory overflow. Overflow items will remain until enough space in the inventory is cleared to make room for the overflow items.
View ArticleIn DC Universe Online (and many other online games), the terms or 'labels' PVE and PVP are used regularly to describe the type of game environment a player is participating in. PVE stands for 'Player vs. Environment", while PVP stands for 'Player vs. Player'.
In PVE environments, players work against non-player characters/monsters, or NPC's to accomplish tasks. PVE worlds do not have public or open-world 'player vs. player' combat, but may have specific areas or encounters where PVP combat might occur. DC has Legends PVP and Arena PVP; these scenarios can be accessed from the 'On Duty' tab on an 'on-demand' basis.
In PVP worlds, players still work against the same types of NPC combatants and encounters that PVE players do, but are also subject to attack from other players anywhere in the open world.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In DC Universe Online, we split PVE and PVP up into 'phases', or instances of the same environment. Players can switch between PVE and PVP phases by visiting the 'Phase Shifters', located in the central area of the Watchtower and Hall of Doom. This allows players to create a single character on a server, and lets them choose what environment they want to play in, when they want to play in it. (this differs from other gaming models, where a whole server is considered PVE or PVP)
Please be aware that as of GU 32, PvP gear may no longer be used in PvE instances. Players will be informed via the chat log when their gear is disabled and re-enabled. PvP weapons will become unusable but not unequipped.
View ArticleTrade Scams
Players may experience incidents in which items were traded to another player so that they might assemble an equipment mod for them or simply wished to trade for a more preferred item. Some players may experience situations in which the person receiving the trade leaves with the items and does not fulfill the request made of them.
Each party member has the ability to examine and approve the proposed trade prior to accepting. Once the trade is confirmed by both parties it will be complete and considered final. The DCUO In-game team will not be able to assist with Trade Scams; please use caution when trading items.
Trading Tips:
Examine items to make sure they are what they should be. Many icons look similar; don't fall victim to a bait and switch.
Check both the item and coin that you are proposing and hoping to receive before confirming.
Never trade an item or coin to someone on a promise that they will return it on another character.
The DCUO In-game team recommends receiving something in value for every trade that is initiated; players may want to consider asking for a deposit or 'bond' to help mitigate the chances of an unsavory character taking advantage of the situation. If a blind, one way trade must be made, the DCUO In-game team recommends that it only be done with a trusted friend or guild mate.

View ArticleThere are several different aspects of league management that the leader will have control over: some of these can also be assigned to other ranks to handle as the leader sees fit.
MOTD - Message of the Day
The MOTD is a message that can be set to echo to all league members when they enter the game. While the MOTD can be used for just about anything, they are typically used to announce upcoming events or league information, like addresses for forums, websites or social/voice servers.
The MOTD can be set by the league leader; the leader can also give other ranks permission to set it. To set, simply type in the message you want to use in the MOTD text box, and click the 'Save' button at the bottom of the League Management screen to finalize your changes.
Rank Properties / Permissions
Each rank in a league can be given custom permission settings for a number of different capabilities - these can be set or altered by the league leader, or any rank that's been given the ability to change permissions. To change settings for a rank..
Click on the desired rank in the list, located in the lower left part of the League Management window.
Once a rank has been selected, toggle the permissions you want the rank to have; these are listed in the lower right part of the window.
Once your selections are complete, click on the 'Save' button to commit your changes to the system.
The properties that can be changed are:
Label: Give a custom name to each rank
Voicechat Speak: Allow members of that rank to speak in league voicechat
Invite member: Allow members of that rank to invite new members to the league
Remove Member: Allows for removal of other members of the league. (must be of a lesser rank)
Edit MOTD: Allows for editing of the Message of the Day
Edit Permissions: Allows that rank the ability to edit the permissions of lesser rank.
Social Menu Options - (Inviting / Removing Members, Changing Ranks)
Several other guild management options are housed in the Social menu: this is brought up by clicking F4 (PC), or the left Dpad button. (PS3). Once up, select 'League'. From here, you can invite new members, remove existing members, and change the rank of online or offline members.
On this screen, you'll see several menu options:
To invite a new member, the player must be online: click 'Invite New Player', and a text box will spawn where you can enter their name, and send them an invitation message. They'll have the invitation pop up on their screen, and will be able to accept or deny it.
To remove a member, click on their name in the 'Online' or 'Offline' list of members. Select 'Remove from League' to drop the member from your league. This action is instant, and does not have a confirmation box/UI.
To change a member's rank, click on their name, and select 'Set League Rank'. Selecting the rank from the 'Set League Rank' window will immediately change their rank - there is no confirmation box/UI associated with this action. Leaders should be very careful, as it is possible to accidentally make another player leader. This is not something Customer Service can intervene or assist with if it happens.
View ArticleLeague Creation
League creation is a simple process that can be started with as few as two players. The league leader/creator will need to be on a Legendary access-level account in order to continue, and can not be part of an existing league before continuing.
For the prospective leader...
Form a group with at least one other player who is not currently in a league.
Open up the PDA (Esc - PC / Start - PS4, Menu - Xbox), and select the League Management menu.
Enter in your proposed league name in the field provided, and click 'SUBMIT'
At this point, the system will run a quick check of the league name submitted against the filters: if the name is valid, the UI will show the message 'Waiting for Approval' - at this point, invites will be sent out to the other members of the group. They will be shown an Invite UI: as long as at least one of them accepts, the league will be created with the desired name.
Once the creation process is complete, the leader and members will see the updated League Management UI. For more information on the different aspects of league management and capabilities, check out the League Article Index.
Our DC Universe Online support team does not offer free League name changes, however, changes will be made to inappropriate League names and the offense may result in disciplinary action. Leagues that have their names changed by the support team will be given a random name, and if players want to edit that name they will either need to remake their League, or purchase a League Name Change Device on the Marketplace.
View ArticleCustomer Service has received a number of inquiries, in which customers who are part of a league ask the GM team to change leaders - generally due to the current league leader being inactive/unavailable. Customer Service can not manipulate ranks in a league, and can not change leadership in cases like this. The only current recourse is for the league leader to transfer leadership manually.
View ArticleI accidentally attuned my item, what now?
There may be cases where a character has attuned an item while in the wrong role. At this time, the DC Universe Online In-game Team is not providing exchanges for incidents of this type: players need to take care to be in the correct role before attuning these types of items.
Please use caution before attuning and review your options carefully

PS3/PS4, Switch, and Xbox Legendary members will automatically be granted the Loyalty reward each month upon logging into the game.
NOTE: Members will need to log in each month in order to receive their Legendary rewards grant. The Legendary rewards, including replay badges, may be granted on different days depending on several factors, such as membership purchase date and the lasttime the account was granted rewards. You will not be able to receive your rewards more than once every month.
What will happen to players’ accounts and Loyalty Points/Daybreak Cash if their Legendary Memberships lapse?
If players’ recurring Legendary Memberships lapse, they will move to Premium Access and lose all the benefits that come with being Legendary, but they would keep any granted Loyalty Points/Daybreak Cash/Replay Badges they have accumulated, and of course anything they have purchased separately.
What if players renew their lapsed Legendary Memberships?
If players renew their lapsed Legendary Memberships with a recurring monthly membership, they would immediately receive their monthly Loyalty Points/Daybreak Cash and then would continue to receive them every month as long as they maintain a membership.
What is the difference between a recurring and a non-recurring Legendary Membership?
A recurring Legendary Membership will automatically renew at the end of its cycle instead of expiring, while a non-recurring Legendary Membership will not.
Do non-recurring Legendary Memberships come with the monthly 500 Loyalty Points/Daybreak Cash?
Yes. Both recurring and non-recurring Legendary Memberships receive the Loyalty Points/Daybreak Cash.
Will I receive 500 Loyalty Points/Daybreak Cash if I cancel my Legendary membership and renew it immediately?
Loyalty Points/Daybreak Cash are only granted once per month per account; canceling the recurring Legendary membership may in fact delay the next grant.
