Dr. Brouwer began his career with Akzo Nobel as a research associate in 1985. He relocated to Singapore in 1997 as a member of a team involved in setting up joint ventures in the Asia Pacific market. Dr. Brouwer earned a Bachelor's degree and Master's degree in Chemistry from Utrecht University in the Netherlands. He received a PhD in chemistry from Eindhoven University of Technology in the Netherlands in 1984. In 1995, Dr. Brouwer received an MBA degree from Pace University, New York, N.Y.
