Mr. Arthur C. Patterson serves as a Founder, General Partner and Founding Partner of Accel. Mr. Patterson co-founded the firm in 1983. Prior to Accel, he served as a General Partner of Adler & Co. His career in venture capital started at CitiCorp Venture Capital where he also managed a fund of publicly traded equities. He served as the President of Viasoft Inc. from October 1984 to June 1985. As the lead investor and a Director, he helped many management teams develop companies, which are leaders in their respective markets, initial public offerings. Mr. Patterson served as the President of the Western Association of Venture Capitalists and a Director of the National Venture Capital Association. Mr. Patterson has also been an Investor and a Director in many other information technology companies which became public companies. He worked in Washington for the international office of the U.S. Treasury Department for International Monetary, Trade and Development Policy. He has been a Lead Outside Director of Actuate Corporation since May 2004 and its Director since November 1993. He serves as a Director at Acalvio since July 26, 2016. He has been a Director of IronPlanet, Inc. since November 1999, NewlineNoosh, Inc. since April 1999 and Poplicus. Mr. Patterson serves as a Director of BlackHog, Inc., Aptana, Inc., Centrify and Integral Development Corporation. He served as the Chairman of Rapt, Inc. He served as a Director of BT Counterpane, Inc., Krux Digital, Inc., Arcot Systems, LLC. He served as a Director of MetroPCS Wireless, Inc. and Savi Technology, Inc. He was employed at Court Square Capital Partners. He served as Presiding Director of MetroPCS Communications, Inc since November 2008 and served as its Director since July 1994. He served as a Director of Coremetrics, Inc. and PageMart Wireless, Inc. He served as a Director of homebid.com, Rapt, Inc., NextG Networks, Inc., DigiGroups, Inc. and T-Mobile US, Inc. He served as a Director of Colo.com, Inc. since April 1999, iPIN, Mendocino Software, Inc., Viasoft, Inc. since September 1984, iPass Inc. from December 1996 to June 2009 and Portal Software Inc. since March 1996. Mr. Patterson holds an MBA and an A.B. from Harvard University.
