James Westra — Managing Partner, Managing Director, Chief Legal Officer, and General Counsel at Advent International

Mr. James Westra serves as the Managing Partner, Managing Director, Chief Legal Officer, and General Counsel at Advent International Corporation since 2011. He joined Advent in 2011. Mr. Westra serves as an Attorney of Hutchins Wheeler & Dittmar. He serves as Clerk of Bertucci's Inc. Prior to joining Advent, he was a partner with the law firm of Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP, where he served as co-head of the global private equity practice. He has been a Director of Bertucci's Inc. since 1993. He served as a Director of Litchfield Financial Corp. since 1995. He has practiced law at Hutchins Wheeler & Dittmar since 1977. He has represented private equity firms and their portfolio companies for over 30 years, and has worked on many transactions, involving public and private companies in both the U.S. and numerous other countries. He has also represented the boards of directors of public companies in connection with strategic transactions. Mr. Westra holds a JD from Boston University School of Law in 1977 and graduated with an AB degree from Harvard College in 1973.
