Executive Bio
Mr. Jeff Adams serves as a Senior Director of Portfolio Support at Advent International Corporation. Mr. Adams joined Advent in 2013. He has experience with companies including GE, Danaher and Smith & Nephew. As a member of these executive management teams, he focused on driving sustainable change by designing long-term strategic plans backed by short-term action plans and metrics. He also played a primary role in turning around problem operations, led the integration of numerous acquisitions, and directed plant operations throughout Europe, China, Thailand, Mexico, Brazil, and India. Previously, he served as a Senior Vice President of Global Operations at Smith & Nephew plc and Smith & Nephew Orthopaedics Ltd. since February 2008. At Smith & Nephew Corporation, he directed all manufacturing, distribution, procurement, sustainability, facilities management, and quality departments. In this role, Mr. Adams transformed Smith & Nephew's operations by leading the corporation through full Lean implementation across all manufacturing and distribution sites, developing a strategic procurement organization, optimizing the manufacturing footprint by closing four high-cost facilities and building two new facilities in China, and implementing a sustainability strategy. These efforts delivered over $250 million of savings. Previously, Mr. Adams held progressively senior leadership roles in Operations, Sourcing, and Supply Chain Management at Danaher and General Electric. During his career, he has been involved in the implementation of multiple, world-class operational tools including lean manufacturing and six sigma. He has over 25 years of experience as a strategic and operational leader with blue-chip companies. He has deep expertise in global end-to-end supply chain, business management, strategic procurement and acquisition integrations. Mr. Adams has an M.S. in Chemical Engineering from Case Western Reserve University and a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from West Virginia University.
