Dr. Helmut R. Endres has been Senior Vice President of Engineering, Worldwide at AGCO Corporation since December 2011. Dr. Endres served as the Vice President of Engineering of Engine Group at Navistar, Inc. (also known as International Truck And Engine Corporation) since July 5, 2006 and served as its Chief Technical Officer. He joined International from Volkswagen AG in Germany, where he was Executive Director of powertrain development for the Volkswagen brand. He was responsible for engine engineering and product development for International's line of MaxxForce(TM) diesel engines and engines sold to International customers. Dr. Endres worked at Volkswagen (including the Audi division) for over 11 years. Dr. Endres served as Vice President Engineering, International Trucks and Engines for Navistar International Corporation. In that role, he led the engine engineering and quality engine programs as well as technical program development and implementation. In his 25-year career, Dr. Endres has acquired vast technical expertise in both diesel and gasoline engines. He has been with VW in Germany for decade, where he most recently led a global team of 2,000 engineers. Among his accomplishments are the development of the high-performance V-10 TDI diesel engine in VW's Touareg SUV and Phaeton luxury sedan and the introduction of turbo-charged, direct-injection gasoline engines with low-fuel consumption as well as high power and torque. Dr. Endres was powertrain development director for Audi (part of Volkswagen Group) for four years. Prior to that, he served as Director of gasoline engines for Volkswagen brands for three years. He began his career with FEV, Inc. in Germany serving in various gasoline and diesel engine engineering roles. He was head of the European Business Unit and led the Combustion Technologies Division. He also spent 13 years with FEV Engine Technology, a global engine development consultancy. He served as Executive Director of Volkswagen. He holds a degree in engineering from RWTH Aachen in Germany, as well as a PhD in Mechanical Engineering and is well known within the global engineering community.
