Malinka Walaliyadde is the co-founder and CEO of AKASA, where he is leading a team dedicated to modernizing the financial infrastructure of healthcare. Previously, he was a deal partner at Andreessen Horowitz (a16z). At a16z, Walaliyadde helped build their healthcare investment team focused on investments at the intersection of software and healthcare. He worked on almost 20 investments totaling over $250M in deal value on both the payer and provider side, ranging from a new Medicare Advantage plan to provider care coordination technology. Prior to a16z, Walaliyadde worked at Counsyl and Corning Life Sciences, and is an engineering graduate with honors from Cornell University. A member of the Forbes Technology Council, Walaliyadde was also named to the Forbes 2018 30 Under 30 list.
