He served as the Principal Accounting Officer of Alkermes Development Corporation II, a General Partner of Alkermes Clinical Partners LP. He served as the Chief Financial Officer, Assistant Secretary, Treasurer and Vice President of Alkermes Development Corporation II, a General Partner of Alkermes Clinical Partners LP since June 1998. Mr. Frates joined Alkermes in 1998. He began his financial career in health care investment banking at Morgan Stanley & Company. From June 1996 to July 1998, he was employed at Robertson, Stephens & Company, served as Vice President in Investment Banking and Vice President in charge of the East Coast Life Sciences Practice. He served at Morgan Stanley & Co. He served as Vice Chairman of Supervisory Board at Agennix AG. He served as Vice Chairman of Supervisory Board at GPC Biotech AG and as its a Member of Supervisory Board since September 2004. He has been a Director of Alkermes Development Corporation II since June 1998 and Sage Therapeutics, Inc. since May 2014. He served as a Director of Alkermes Plc. He served as a Director of Alkermes Development Corporation II, a general partner of Alkermes Clinical Partners LP since June 1998. He served as Member of Supervisory Board at Agennix AG since September 2004. Mr. Frates received a B.A. in Government from Harvard College and an M.B.A. from Harvard Graduate School of Business Administration in June 1996.
