Douglas Timmerman — President of Ally Insurance at Ally Financial Inc.

Mr. Douglas Timmerman, also known as Doug, has been President of Ally Insurance at Ally Financial Inc. since 2014. Mr. Timmerman is responsible for overseeing GMAC branches in 19 Eastern states and is also responsible for all of Ally's Insurance operations including consumer products such as vehicle service contracts, maintenance contracts and GAP coverage as well as property and casualty products for dealers. Mr. Timmerman served as Vice President of North American Operations for Eastern Region at Ally Financial Inc. (alternate name GMAC LLC). since January 2006. Since joining Ally in 1986, Mr. Timmerman held a variety of leadership roles. He has experience in commercial lending, consumer lending, collections, sales and marketing. His experience also includes a broad geographical reach, holding assignments that have touched nearly every state. Mr. Timmerman joined GMAC in 1986 and served as area vice president of GMAC's Chicago Business Center since January 2004. Mr. Timmerman served as vice president of Auto Finance for the Southeast region in Atlanta, where he was responsible for sales, risk management and portfolio management for more than 4,000 dealer relationships across 11 states. He has Master'S Degree in Business Administration from the University of Nebraska. He also holds a Bachelor'S Degree from the University of Nebraska.
