Jason Schugel — Deputy Chief Risk Officer at Ally Financial Inc.

Mr. Jason Schugel has been Deputy Chief Risk Officer of Ally Financial Inc. since 2017 and served as its General Auditor since July 2014 until 2017. Mr. Schugel was responsible for the Ally Financial internal audit function, as well as administrative oversight for Ally's loan review function. His specific duties included interacting with Ally senior leadership, regulators, external auditors and other stakeholders; assessing key strategic, financial, operational and compliance risks; and designing and executing an audit plan aimed at evaluating the effectiveness of risk management, internal control and governance activities across the Ally Financial. Mr. Schugel joined Ally in 2009 and oversaw financial planning and analysis team which is responsible for Ally's financial performance reporting, enterprise-wide forecasting and planning. He served as Lead Finance Executive for Ally's global functions, where he led a number of critical initiatives related to the company's international divestitures, mortgage alternatives, expense reduction efforts and most recently, Ally's initial public offering in April 2014. He served as Vice President of Financial Planning & Analysis and Investor Relations at LendingTree, LLC. Prior to that, he worked in investment banking for Wachovia and began his career at First Plus Financial, specializing in mergers and acquisitions. He has a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from Southern Methodist University in Dallas and a Master's Degree in Business Administration from the Babcock Graduate School of Management at Wake Forest University.
