Altair was a great (if comparatively low-paying) employer until the company went public. Things have degraded precipitously since then. Most of the employees I know are looking to move on.
What do your coworkers need to improve and how could you work together better?
They'd probably be better if they were paid reasonably.
What's going wrong and how can it be improved?
Too many acquisitions, loss of customer focus, lack of appreciation for employees.
What needs to change to make the company culture better?
In some divisions, managers have little or no familiarity with the fields they're nominally supervising.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
Salaries are far below market. I've actually left for a 40% raise. The formerly excellent health insurance plans were replaced with sub-par offerings in 2021. RSUs have been largely abolished and the 401k match is negligible.
