Executive Bio

Dr. Julie Krop, M.D. has been the Chief Medical Officer and Executive Vice President at AMAG Pharmaceuticals, Inc. since December 12, 2017 and served as its Senior Vice President of Clinical Development and Regulatory Affairs since June 2015 until December 12, 2017. Dr. Krop served as Vice President for Clinical Development of Peptimmune, Inc. Dr. Krop was responsible for the clinical development of all programs at Peptimmune. Prior to Peptimmune, she was a Director, Clinical Development at Millennium Pharmaceuticals where she led Phase I-II development of MLN-02, a compound in co-development with Genentech for the treatment of Inflammatory Bowel Disease, an autoimmune disease. She has more than 15 years of experience in drug development, working with clinical teams in the strategic design and execution of development plans and leading the preparation and participation in pre-approval FDA advisory panel presentations and discussions. In addition, she has worked with the FDA and European Medicines Agency (EMEA) to obtain drug approvals in the U.S. and Europe. She also led strategic clinical development programs in the areas of autoimmune and metabolic disorders at Millennium. Prior to Millennium, she served as Associate Director, Clinical Development at Pfizer, where she worked on the Phase III inhaled insulin program. Dr. Krop completed her fellowship in endocrinology at Johns Hopkins Hospital and is board certified in endocrinology. Dr. Krop received her BS from Brown University and her medical degree from the Brown University School of Medicine. She completed her residency in the Department of Medicine at Georgetown University Hospital and a fellowship in the Department of Endocrinology at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.
