David L. Kemmerly — Senior Vice President of Government Affairs and General Counsel at Amedisys

Mr. David L. Kemmerly, also known as Dave, has been Senior Vice President of Government Affairs and General Counsel at Amedisys Inc. since March 30, 2015 and October 31, 2015 respectively and served as its Interim General Counsel since March 30, 2015 until Ocotober 30, 2015. Mr. Kemmerly has over 25 years of government relations, with more than 17 years specializing in health care law and public policy. He served as Special Counsel at Adams and Reese, LLP where his primary focus was government relations and health care law. Prior to Adams and Reese, LLP, he spent nearly nine years in Public Affairs at Humana, more than seven of those years as Director of State Public Affairs, where he was responsible for legislative and regulatory affairs and outcomes in all 50 states. Mr. Kemmerly developed and led implementation of successful state legislative and regulatory strategies that helped protect the business interests of one of the nation's largest health insurers with over 13 million medical enrollees. Mr. Kemmerly received his Bachelor of Arts from Louisiana State University and his Juris Doctor from Tulane University Law School. He is also a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association.
