Mr. Dale E. Heydlauff has been Senior Vice President of Corporate Communications of American Electric Power Company, Inc. since January 1, 2017 and serves as its President of American Electric Power Foundation. Mr. Heydlauff serves as a Senior Vice President of Properties for the Simon Kenton Council, Boy Scouts of America and the President of the Upper Arlington High School Vocal Music Boosters Association. He served as Vice President of Corporate Communications of American Electric Power Company, Inc. since January 2008 until December 7, 2016. He served as a Senior Vice President of Distribution and Customer Operations of American Electric Power Co. Inc., since June 2004 until January 2008 and served as its Senior Vice President of Governmental and Environmental Affairs since 2000. Mr. Heydlauff oversees AEP's centralized distribution and customer service functions, including distribution asset management, distribution dispatch and outage management, distribution engineering standards, customer information systems, meter systems and services, customer billing and credit, call centers, national customer accounts and economic development support. Mr. Heydlauff joined AEP in 1988 as a Director of federal affairs in AEP's Washington office. After three years in Washington, he served as Vice President of Environmental Affairs of AEP. Before joining AEP, Mr. Heydlauff spent 10 years in government affairs, including work with General Motors Corp., from 1978 to 1980. He served as Legislative Assistant for former Congressman Carl D. Pursell (R-MI) from 1980 to 1982, as the Deputy Director of the State of Illinois Washington Office for former Gov., James R. Thompson (R-IL) from 1982 to 1984 and worked in private practice for two separate Washington law firms from 1985 to 1988 specializing in energy, environmental, transportation and tax issues. Mr. Heydlauff received a Bachelors degree in Political Science from Eastern Michigan University and completed an Executive Masters of Business Administration course at the Darden Graduate School of Business Administration at the University of Virginia.
