Mr. Paul Chodak III has been Executive Vice President of Utilities at American Electric Power Company, Inc. since January 1, 2017. Mr. Chodak oversees the activities of all AEP utility operating companies. He is responsible for continuing the growth of AEP's regulated utility operations as they focus on investing in advanced technologies to deliver more reliable, affordable and cleaner energy to customers. He served as the President and Chief Operating Officer of Indiana Michigan Power Company, an affiliate of American Electric Power Company, Inc. since May 2010 until December 31, 2016. Mr. Chodak served as the President and Chief Operating Officer of Southwestern Electric Power Company of American Electric Power Co. Inc. from July 1, 2008 to May 2010. Mr. Chodak served as the Director of New Plant Development Projects of American Electric Power Co., Inc. since 2007. He joined AEP in 2001 as Project Manager and also served as its Managing Director of Corporate Technology Development, Director of Engineering and Environmental Services and Director of Environmental Programs. Prior to AEP, he served at Los Alamos National Laboratory. He serves as a Director of Indiana-Kentucky Electric Corporation. He serves as Director of Southwestern Electric Power Company. He serves as a Director of Appalachian Power Company, Ohio Power Company and Public Service Company of Oklahoma. He served as Director-New Generation of AEPSC (American Electric Power Service Corporation, a service company subsidiary of AEP) from 2007 to 2008 and its Director-Environmental Programs from 2004 to 2007. He served as a Director of Indiana Michigan Power Company until December 30, 2016. He served a Commission in the US Navy, where he served as Chief Engineer and Submarine Officer. He received a Department of Energy Fellowship to study at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where he earned a Doctorate in Nuclear Engineering. Mr. Chodak earned a Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute. He earned a Master's in Civil Engineering from Virginia Polytechnic Institute.
