Michelle A. Gillis SPHR — Chief Administrative Officer and Senior Vice President at American Financial Group

Ms. Michelle A. Gillis, also known as Shelly, SPHR, serves as Chief Administrative Officer and Senior Vice President at Great American Insurance Company. Ms. Gillis has been Chief Administrative Officer and Senior Vice President of American Financial Group Inc. since March 2013 and March 2012 respectively. Ms. Gillis has expanded responsibilities overseeing its Event and Conference Department and AFG Enterprise Services. Ms. Gillis served as Assistant Vice President of American Financial Group Inc (also known as AFG) since January 1, 2008 to March 2011. She was Vice President of American Financial Group Inc since March 2011. Ms. Gillis started her career at Great American Insurance Group, a subsidiary of AFG, in 2004 as an Organizational Planning Director. She held positions of increasing responsibility over the past few years, as Corporate Vice President of Great American's Human Resources Department, since December 2008. Prior to joining Great American, she was a Vice President & Senior HR Business Partner of Fifth Third Bank. Ms. Gillis serves as mentor at Oyler Elementary through the Literacy Network of Greater Cincinnati Cincinnati Reads Program and is a former member of the Seton High School Board of Trustees. Ms. Gillis is a graduate of the University of Cincinnati, where she received a BA in Communications and Masters of Arts degree in Labor and Employee Relations. She has also earned the Senior Professional of Human Resources (SPHR) designation.
