Ms. Diana M. Laing has been the Chief Financial Officer of American Homes 4 Rent since May 18, 2014. Ms. Laing has been Treasurer of A REIT Inc., since January 2004 and served as its Chief Financial Officer from January 2004 to January 31, 2005. She served as the Chief Financial Officer and Secretary of Thomas Properties Group Inc. since May 2004. She served as Chief Financial Officer of Triple Net Properties, LLC from January 2003 to April 2004 and also served as the Chief Financial Officer of G REIT Inc. and T REIT Inc. Ms. Laing served as a Principal and Chief Financial Officer of New Pacific Realty Corporation, a private real estate investment company, from December 2001 to December 2003 and as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Firstsource Corp., a Private Technology Company, from July 2000 to May 2001. Ms. Laing has 20 years of real estate industry experience, with particular expertise in finance, capital markets, strategic planning, budgeting and financial reporting. From August 1996 to July 2000, she served as the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Arden Realty Inc. and The Largest Owner and operator of Commercial Office Properties in the Southern California region. Ms. Laing's previous experience includes serving from 1982 to August 1996 in various capacities including Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer, Principal Accounting Officer and Treasurer of Southwest Property Trust, a publicly traded real estate investment trust which owned multi-family properties throughout the southwestern United States. Ms. Laing has been employed by South West Property Trust Inc. and its predecessors since 1982. She previously served as Controller, Treasurer and Vice President - Finance of South West Property Trust Inc. and its predecessors. Ms. Laing began her career as an auditor with Arthur Andersen & Company. Ms. Laing has been an Independent Director of The Macerich Company since 2003. She serves as a Member of the Board of Directors of the Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Los Angeles and the Inland Empire. Ms. Laing served as a Director of Sterling House Corporation, a publicly-traded operator of assisted living centers, since November 1995. She serves on the Dean's Advisory Council for the College of Business at Loyola Marymount University. She is a member of the American Institute of CPA's and the Texas Society of CPA's. She is a Texas Certified Public Accountant. Ms. Laing received a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Oklahoma State University.
