    Stories

Stories are short videos composed of varying scenes. You can also edit clips that you upload, and add a background track.

Hit the pencil button to create a blog post, just like youd start a regular blog post. Youll see that theres a new option to create a story.

Tap the + button to begin. Youll be brought to the Story editor, which lets you create your masterpiece.

Tap on the slot for Scene 01 and choose what clip to upload. Youll be able to trim the clip to the length you want it to be.

Youll be able to add up to 10 scenes in one story, and each scene can be from 3-15 seconds long. Feel free to tap the + to add more.

Under your Stories preview, youll see the option to add Background music! Go ahead, try it out.

Once your video is all ready, you can add a Title, description, and credits to your story. You can also tag your story with a hashtag topic to make it easier to find.

    Link

If you'd like to share content from a website outside of Amino, you can do so through a link post. Once you've inserted a link, you'll see an automatically generated snippet based on the URL. You can add your own thoughts to appear beneath it in the post.

    Quiz

Challenge your friends (or yourself) by making and taking quizzes. Quizzes can be made on a range of topics, long lasting or topical.

Quizzes can be 7-100 questions, with 4 answer options per question and images. There is a timed element to the quiz, with 10 seconds to answer per question. See your score and how you compare to others after the quiz ends! A quiz is ended automatically if you get a question wrong.

If you choose to take it again, the order of questions will be different. Certain quizzes can be taken in Hell Mode if you ace them once. This time, the answers will be upside down and backwards and you'll have half the time to answer.

    Question

This post is the easiest way to get fast answers from other Community members. Ask your question, then add details, images or videos, a background, or related Wiki links. Then wait for the responses to come in.

    Public Chatroom

Click here to start a public chat in a community. Read more about public chats here.

    Poll

Polls are the best way to get the opinion of other members of your Amino. There are two types of polls:

    Classic Polls

Use a classic poll to get the Amino's opinion on any topic of interest by adding poll options for the Amino to vote on.

    Favorites Based Polls

Use a Favorites Based poll to get the Amino's opinion on Wiki Entries and to nominate their own for consideration.

You have the option to allow other members to join by adding their own Wiki Entries to your poll for consideration. You must approve Entries submitted by other members before they appear in the poll. All poll options must be Wiki Entries, so make sure that you have created some yourself or added them to your profile from the Wiki before continuing.

I voted in a poll, but now I've changed my mind!

No problem. To unvote in a poll, navigate to the post and select Change vote underneath. It will cancel your vote. After that you can vote again, if you like.

    Blog

This post type is the best to use to share thoughts, ideas, or reviews. Long press to embed images to your text, or use the menu at the bottom to add pictures, background or post categories.

Create a hyperlink in your blog by pasting the link into the post body and then typing in the link title in the pop-up window. Click Insert.

Little tip: tap on the eye icon in the top right corner to preview your blog before submitting it. Looking good? Post away!

    Formatting Blogs

Formatting of text (in posts, chat messages and comments) on Amino is available by paragraph. Although its not possible to format a single word, you can format an entire line.Highlight the phrase you want to format and then select the option you want from the pop-up that appears.

Alternatively, you can also use commands at the beginning of a line. These will always be a capital letter inside brackets.

Center - Aligns the selected text to the center of the page. Type [C] at the beginning of a line.

Bold - Makes selected text bold. Type [B] at the beginning of a line

Italic - Makes selected text italic. Type [I] at the beginning of a line.

Underline - Underlines your text. Type [U] at the beginning of the line.

Strikethrough - Strikes through your text. Type [S] at the beginning of a line.

You can also add several commands in [ ] or select several text formatting options. For example, [BI] will make your text both bold and italic.

To insert a link, you'll use this format: [Join Amino|http://aminoapps.com]

If you change your mind about formatting, you can always remove the command at the beginning of the line. Or if you highlighted text, just un-select the command you chose.

These formatting options work on desktop too. Highlight text as usual and select on A icon to see the formatting options; or use the above formatting commands.

  • Amino empowers anyone to connect with others around what they love. With that mission comes a responsibility to keep every Amino member safe and happy. So we went ahead and created a set of universal community guidelines that apply to every single Amino. Individual Amino community leaders can create their own additional rules, as long as theydon'tconflict with ours. Make sure you check those out, too.

    Copyright & Intellectual Property

In general, if you post something, you should either own it or have gotten permission to post it. Dont claim authorship over content that you didnt create. Why not draw something yourself instead, or take a picture of a plant?

    Harassment & Hate

Be kind. Communities are about people coming together because they share something in common. We take this very seriously, and explicitly ban:

Hate speech. Amino is a place to build communities, not to break them down. Content that attacks or vilifies people based on things like race, color, religion, national origin, sex (including gender presentation and sexual orientation), or disability is not allowed. Some examples include:

Using slurs or epithets, attacking profanity, or expressing hatred toward a group of people

Holocaust denial, glorifying the suffering of a group of people, expressing supremacism, or alt-right, etc.

Harassment and bullying. Making others feel unsafe is not allowed. Some examples include:

Doxxing (sharing personal information), or publishing content with the intent to embarrass or harm another person

Telling someone to hurt themselves or to commit suicide

Creating fake accounts to impersonate another person and harass them or disrupt their use of Amino, etc

Threats, violent, or dangerous behavior. Safety is paramount on Amino. The following types of threats are prohibited and may also result in Amino reporting you to law enforcement or emergency officials:

    Terrorism or mass violence

    Physical harm or murder

Hacking or threatening to SWAT Amino or others

    Self-harm or suicide

    Blackmail, etc.

Making inappropriate or unwanted requests for personal information or photos. Context matters here but, generally speaking, asking for others contact information or for them to send you photos is prohibited.

If you feel harassed on Amino, we encourage you to block that user. Then take a breath and flag them for review. Lastly, take some time to compliment yourself, because youre great.

    Spam and Self-Promotion

We want everyone in an Amino community to enjoy the content & discussions they want. Some activities ruin that experience. Some examples:

    Super annoying, off-topic messages

Promoting yourself, your Amino, or anything else about you in a repetitive or impersonal manner

Automated posting, messages, comments...or automated anything

Making the same post, message, or comment over and over and over and over and over again (really, once is enough)

If you feel the compulsion to do any of these things, maybe take that energy and put it into something productive, like messaging your elected representatives.

    Sexual Content & NSFW

Just like your favorite ocean, lets keep it clean. Wearen'tgoing to list off every type of weird thing wedon'tallow, but a good rule of thumb is: if you think its too sexual, it probably is, and it shouldnt be posted here.

Nudity is not allowed. We use the 50/50 rule.

If over 50% of sexual body parts are exposed, the content is not allowed.

Explicit sexual content is not allowed.

Implicit sexual content is not allowed. Some examples of this include:

    Undressing

    Simulating sexual acts

    Overly sexual facial expressions

    Cuddling nude, etc.

Art depicting nudity, or over 50% of sexual body parts, is allowed as long as:

The medium is a painting, drawing, sculpture, or similar (ex: not a photograph or video of real people)

    Its not intended to arouse

Content that encourages or celebrates sexual violence, exploitation, prostitution, or sex trade is prohibited.

Text-based sexual content is prohibited in any public areaslike public chats, posts, or wikisof Aminos that are Open or Approval-Required. Some communities have extra rules on this subject, so be sure to check with your communitys leaders if you are unsure of whats allowed.

Certain Private communities are allowed to discuss sexual themes and related topics. These communities stillcan'thave any inappropriate sexual imagery. And, obviously, the rest of these guidelines apply to them, too.

    Protecting Teenagers:

People under the age of 18 on Amino have to follow more strict policies when it comes to sexual content.

We remove all sexually suggestive content depicting people under 18, even if it was unintentionally suggestive, so as to protect teens from having their content used in an inappropriate or unsafe manner by others. Examples of the type of content that teens cannot post include:

    Dancing in a sexual manner

Making sexual facial expressions or gestures

Appearing in underwear, wearing swimsuits indoors, or dressing in overly-revealing clothing

Posting sexual text or dialogue along with imagery of teenagers

Any behavior or content that sexualizes minors is strictly prohibited and may result in Amino reporting you to law enforcement agencies.

    Self-Harm

Anything that promotes, glorifies, or encourages self-harm or eating disordersisn'tallowed on Amino. If it could intentionally physically, emotionally, or mentally harm an Amino community member, it has no place here.

If you see someone on Amino discussing harming themselves or others, let us know. And if you are going through something yourself, know you are not alone and that there are resources out there to help you through it.

    Other Kinds of Graphic/Gross Content

Pretty straightforward:don'tpost real gore or graphic violence to shock other members. Dont post anything that depicts the mutilation, torture, or harm of human beings, animals, or any thinking, feeling being. Anddon'tpost anything that glorifies any of the above. What, are you trying to ruin someones day?

Mildly objectionable content and art are allowed as long as theyaren'trepulsive and intending to shock viewers. To determine whether content crosses the line, we review the general context of the imagery and take things into consideration such as:

If it depicts actual torture, pain, dismemberment, or violence involving real people or animals

If it invokes a feeling of shock, sickness, or pain in the viewer

    If it depicts bodily fluids

If the content is abnormally grotesque or exaggerated

If it is historical or famous, etc.

Our policies aim to remove content that depicts actual torture, pain, dismemberment, or violence involving real people or animals. Art, special effects, TV shows and media, or other fictional portrayals are generally not in violation of these guidelines. If we think it might be real, were going to remove it.

    Unsafe or Illegal

Content depicting actual illegal, unsafe, or criminal activity is not allowed on Amino. Some examples of this include:

    Anything that could harm minors

Dangerous activity involving regulated goods or services (ex: alcohol, drugs, weapons etc)

    Violent crimes or terrorism

Self-harm or harm to others, etc.

Please note that roleplay, TV shows and media, or other fictional portrayals of the above are not generally considered a violation of these guidelines.

It is prohibited to offer raffles, sweepstakes, games of chance or merit, or the opportunity to gamble, if you require users to pay in order to potentially win a prize. You are welcome to offer prizes as long as peopledon'thave to pay to enter to win.

For example, give props for a chance to win is not allowed, but stating add a comment for the chance to win is.

Using coins to purchase goods is allowed on Amino; please see our Coin Policies for additional information.

You can have up to three different accounts on Amino. Please note that you will have to attach a different identifier (email address or phone number) to each one.

If you no longer have access to the email address that you signed up with, changed your phone number, or are unable to sign in for any other reason: please let us know through this form.

How do I change the email address attached to my account?

Go into SettingsAccount Email. Youll be able to change the address there. Youll be asked to verify your account again, so make sure to double-check your spam filter if youdon'tsee the message.

How can I add a phone number to my account?

Go into Settings (in the top right corner of your My Communities page), then Account, then click into your profile. You'll be able to add your phone number in here.

If you need to change your phone number, you can select Update Phone number. Please note that for security purposes, you'll have to enter your password and then verify your account.

How do I change my password?

If you're already logged into the app, you can go straight to Settings Account Change Password > Forgot your password?

Make sure to double-check your spam filter if youre not receiving a reset email - and that youre manually typing the code into your phone, not copy-pasting!

  • Disabling Content

Leaders and Curators have the power to delete or disable content via the Moderation Menu if you believe it violates the rules of your Amino.

However, we know that youcan'tbe everywhere at once! All Amino users have the ability to flag content they believe violates Aminos Terms of Service or Guidelines. Depending on the nature of the violation, these flags may either be sent directly to Team Amino or to the communitys Flag Center (located on the Left Side Panel) for leader review. In the Flag Center, youll be able to see flagged content and the reason why it was marked for review. Click on the flag to review the content, and then make a decision to keep or disable it based on the rules of your community.

    Warnings, Strikes, and Bans

Leaders have a few different options to help members understand when they are breaking community rules:

Warning - This sends a message to the member letting them know that theyve violated the guidelines and are at risk of more serious consequences. It should always be a first step before a strike or a ban.

Strike - This puts the member in read-only mode for the specific community they were striked in for 1-24 hours. The memberwon'tbe able to post, chat, or interact with any content. A Strike should only be used once an initial Warning has already been sent.

Ban - This will remove a member permanently from your Amino. Please only do this once you have issued a Warning or Strike first.

When Striking or Banning a member, we offer a number of templates that explain the reason for the Strike or Ban. You may also compose a customized message. Team Amino requires that all Leaders leave a clear and valid explanation for a Ban in the space provided.

You can disable any piece of content by clicking the ... in the top right corner of the post and then selecting Moderation Menu. From here you can disable the content, as well as send a Warning or Strike to the member who posted it.

You can also send a Warning or Strike directly from a members profile. Select the ... in the top right corner to pull up the Moderation Menu. From here you can message the member directly to talk things out. Always try explaining first how they are breaking the rules (and the consequences that can come from this). If you have already sent Warnings and Strikes and you see that the rule-breaking continues, you have the option to Ban them permanently from your Amino.

We all make mistakes, and its important to note that you always have the option to undo Bans! In ACM under the Members tab for your Amino, you can see a full list of banned members. Youll have the option to unban members from here. You can also see full moderation logs for your leadership team.

While Leaders have the ability to make sure everyone is following the rules, Team Amino expects that Leaders act fairly and with compassion. Team Amino reserves the right to remove Leaders or Curators from their position if they are abusing their power.

Toggle on Do Not Disturb mode to mute notifications for a chat

Toggle Pin Chat to make this chat appear at the top of your list

If you are an Amino+ member, click into the Chat Bubble Style to customize your chat bubbles

The option to leave a chat will always be here, under Leave Conversation

    Hosts and Co-Hosts

Every Public Chat will have a Host who manages and moderates the chat. They can be identified by the Host tag next to their name. A Host can add up to 10 Co-Hosts in Chat Settings. These can be identified by the Co-Host tag next to their name. A Host can edit the chat description, start a Voice Chat or Screening Room, transfer their Host role to someone else, or end the chat altogether.

If you'd like to host a more low-pressure experience for lots of people (think: a Q&A session with a Creator with dozens of attendees), a Host can make the chat View Only. This will allow only the Host and Co-Hosts to type or speak. You can toggle this option off or on at any time inside Chat Settings. Just tap the gear icon in the top right corner. Youll find options to Transfer Host or Delete the Chat here as well.

    Tipping in Chat

Chat participants can Give Props to a Host as a thank you for their hard work. Just tap the Coin icon in the bottom right corner and select the amount you want to send.

    Pinned Announcements

A Host or Co-Host can pin an Announcement to a chat by navigating to the Announcement section in Chat Settings and then Add Text. You can add up to 500 characters worth of text; then tap Save and youre done.

These Announcements will stay at the top of the chat and generally contain chat rules, upcoming events, or other important information. (Dont worry your members will receive a Broadcast when a pinned announcement changes.)

    Tagging Chat Members

Tag your friends in a chat to get their attention. Just @ them by their username. Keep in mind that your friend must already be a member of this chat in order for the tag to work.

    Private Chats

Private Chats on Amino are only accessible to their participants. You can join a private chat by being invited to one or by starting your own.

Leave a Private Chat by tapping the triple dot menu in the top right corner and selecting Leave Conversation. Be careful! If you leave a Private Chat by mistake, it may be difficult to re-join.

    My Chats

Access all your Community Chats via the Side Menu inside a Community or by the Chats button on your Home Bar.

Once in the Chats button, tap Create at the top right corner to start a new Public or Private chat. If you select Private Chat, a list of Community members will appear. Pick one or more members to invite. You can also type a members name in the Search bar to locate them quickly.

    My Favorite Members

The My Favorite Members bar will always appear the top of your Chats list. Pin your favorite friends to this list. Tap the + button to add someone to this list. To manage your list, select the gear icon and then Edit. You can then drag and drop to reorganize members or remove someone altogether.

If youdon'tuse this bar and want to hide it, tap the gear icon and select Hide.

In your chat list, swipe left on any Public or Private Chat for quick access to the following actions: Pin a chat, Mark as Unread, or Delete a chat.

My verification code expired before I got a chance to use it!

No worries, you can request a new one inside the app. In any Community, navigate to the Me Tab Menu icon in the top right corner Account Security Email Verify Email. We will send you a new code.

    Creating your Profile

  • If you no longer want to be the Agent Leader of your Community anymore, you can transfer the responsibility to someone else. Before you do, you must transfer the leadership to another active Leader, Curator, or community member.

To transfer Agent status, navigate to Members on the bottom bar of ACM Management Team Leader. Tap on another Leaders screen name and pick Transfer Agent Status. If you want to choose a Curator or other community member, you will need to appoint them to Leader first before selecting them as Agent Leader.

Once the new agent accepts their invitation, you can fully leave the community. Please keep in mind that you should only do this if you are sure that you do not want to be a Leader of your community anymore. You will not be able to get your Agent position back unless the new Agent volunteers to return it to you.

  • Amino is an ecosystem of communities dedicated to shared interests for instance, current TV shows, musical theater, or your favorite sports team. Some of the larger, most popular communities will also have an independent app to be easy accessible from a devices home screen, but these are all still part of Amino.

Amino is primarily mobile-based, though some content and functionalities are available for desktop use. It is available for most major devices.

Which functionalities should I know about?

In communities with Open privacy settings, which anyone can join, members create all kinds of public content dedicated to the topic of their community. They can post blogs about their favorite shows, create a poll about their favorite pro athletes, or create a quiz testing other members knowledge of a pop stars favorite food. In Private or Approval Required (meaning invite-only) communities, which require permission to join, members can do many of the same things, but in a less public setting.

Members can chat in public or private chats, either in group or one-on-one scenarios. Public chats are open to anyone in a community. Private chats require an invitation to join.

Each member has a profile which displays their username and a unique profile link tied to that particular community. Members are permitted to use different nicknames in each of their communities. We encourage you to speak with your teen about not sharing personal information on Amino or any other online platform: including phone numbers, real names, and exact location information.

To learn more about the information we collect and store, please check out our Privacy Policy.

  • Listed Communities are prioritized in search results; visible in the Explore Page; and sorted by category based on the community Listing categories selected during creation. Listing your Community is a good way to boost its visibility and attract new members. Your Community must be submitted and approved by Team Amino before it is Listed.

Team Amino will review submissions based on the activity of members and Leaders, quality and completeness of assets and description, compliance with Aminos Community Guidelines, and a number of other factors.

If you submit your Community to be Listed and are approved, you are responsible for maintaining an active leadership team. We retain the right to remove and replace inactive leaders from Listed Communities.

Before submitting your Community to be Listed, it must meet all of these requirements:

    Minimum 10 original posts.

At least 15 daily active members.

You must have an active leadership team (at least 10 minutes spent on the app daily). We cannot list Communities with only an Agent - you must have at least one other Leader or Curator as well.

Your Community must be at least 14 days old.

Your Community must be set to Open or Approval Required. Private Communities cannot be Listed.

Before you submit, double-check that your tagline, Listing categories, default language, and description are all filled out!

    Listing Categories

Communities are sorted by category on the Explore Page to help members find Communities that align with their interests. Choose up to 2 that best describe your Community. Your Community will only appear in those categories once it is approved.

Once your Community has been Listed, you can not change these categories. Make sure to edit these categories via the Privacy/Visibility section of your Customize Tab before submitting for Listing.

How can I submit my Community to be Listed?

You can do this in ACM. Go into your Community, navigate to the Dashboard tab, and scroll to the bottom. Select "Submit to be Listed on the Explore Page."

How long will it take for my Community to be Listed?

Please allow up to two weeks for your request to be processed.

How do I remove the pre-populated welcome post?

You can do this in your Community! Click on the "..." at the top of the post and then delete.

My request was rejected. Now what?

Make sure that your Community fulfills all the requirements before submitting it to be Listed. If your Listing request has been rejected, take a look at the feedback.

Verify thatyou'veremoved the pre-populated welcome post

Make sure no information is missing from your Community description, tagline, or keywords

Take a look at what your members have been posting in the Latest Feed. Make sure everything is appropriate and conforming to our Community Guidelines.

  • Featured Feed

The Featured Feed is also important in setting the tone of the community. By highlighting the best content that people have contributed to your Amino in once place, you are signaling to others the quality of posts that you expect. This sets the standard for other content creators, so they know what they need to do to get featured as well.

The Featured Feed also helps ensure membersdon'tmiss anything important or significant in the community. It provides them with ways to join or start a discussion by offering them the best content to comment on. Refreshing the Featured Feed often lets members know that the community is an active and dynamic place.

    Community Challenges

Creating and featuring Community Challenges encourages community members to contribute content on a related theme. You can think of challenges that are perfect for your audience, and bring them back periodically as the community grows. For example,

An Ice-Breaker Challenge encourages community members to share their own experiences around the topic of your Amino: thats what they all have in common.

"Tell the story about how you first learned about this anime!

An Artist Challenge can spark a virtual show & tell experience within the community

Share your favorite piece of art and tell me why!

An Unpopular Opinion Challenge stirs up interesting conversation in the community.

Share your unpopular opinion and explain why everyone else is wrong.

Challenges should have specific guidelines or rules. That way, people will have a clear understanding of what to write, and create better challenge posts as a result. A simple hashtag can go a long way in spreading the word about a challenge. For example, the hashtag #IceBreakerChallenge motivates members to join in on the action. As the Latest feed fills with posts including the #IceBreakerChallenge hashtag, people will start to notice and participate.

    More Ideas for Challenges

There are countless ideas for challenges, and not all of them need to be reliant on member-created posts:

    Caption Contest

Upload an image and have community members caption the image. This challenge is easy to host and easy to run weekly.

    Fanart Challenge

Suggest a theme, and encourage people to draw their own version or ideas based off of the theme. Fanart Challenges are an easy way to showcase your communitys creativity.

    Challenge Prizes

Some Leaders like to encourage people to participate in challenges by offering prizes. Some ideas include

    Having their post be Featured

    Granting them a Title

Gifting them Original Art from yourself or another artist

Give them Props on their contest submission

  • Warnings, Strikes, and Bans

Leaders have the ability to give community specific bans or strikes to members who violate the guidelines of their community. If you break the rules, you may receive any of the following:

Warning - The leader's way of letting you know you've violated the guidelines and are at risk of more serious consequences

Strike - Puts you in read-only mode for that community for 1-24 hours

Ban - Removes access to that community

Go to the Left Side Panel and click Community Guidelines to read the rules for your community. If you are a leader who wants to add guidelines, see more here.

Separately, Team Amino may Strike or Ban users across the entire platform for certain violations of Amino's Guidelines.

    Disabling Content

Leaders are likely to disable your content if it is perceived as spam, off-topic, attention-seeking, harassing, disruptive, or otherwise violates the specific Guidelines located in the Left Side Panel of each Amino.

When Leaders disable your content, they are encouraged to send a message explaining their reason. We encourage you to discuss the situation with the Leader of your Amino.

    Team Amino's Role

Team Amino has many tools to help keep communities safe, friendly, and fun. We help leaders by providing tons of moderation support, especially with inappropriate content. If you have questions about how Team Amino contributes to moderation, feel free to contact us via Support.

What content does Amino proactively moderate?

We have a team of moderators working across seven languages, 24 hours a day, every day of the year. This team reviews content that is reported to us by other users. We also use technology to help us detect policy violations before other users have to report it us.

These tools help us look for things like hateful content, dangerous activity, or pornographic and nude images sent on the platform. Much of this content is automatically removed to minimize its presence on the platform.

If you had content removed that you believe does not violate any of our Guidelines and does, in fact, belong on Amino, you can always appeal this decision.

We take the safety of our platform extremely seriously and work to prevent users from encountering content that violates our Community Guidelines.

    Community Name

You can change your Community name at any time if your community is Unlisted. Just navigate back to ACM > Customize > Name, and make the changes you want. A Listed communitys name cannot be changed.

    Amino ID

An Amino ID is important for those who search for your community. Its a unique identifier for your community, as well as your web URL. Your Community will be assigned a default Amino ID upon setup. You can change it in ACM > Customize > Amino ID. We recommend something simple and identifiable: its the best way for friends or potential members to locate you on Amino. (Remember that this is how people will search for your Community, so try to avoid difficult or complicated IDs.)

You can change your Amino ID at any time if your Community is Unlisted. A Listed Communitys ID cannot be changed.

    Tagline

Here you can choose a short one-liner for your Community. Tip: a clever and catchy tagline inspires people to join.

This is where you can change your Communitys language settings. Keep in mind that this only affects the language of your Community setup. It does not automatically translate all the posts in your Community.

You are allowed to change your Communitys language settings, but note that you will have to select new listing categories.

    Leader Picks

Endorse other great Communities from inside your own! These could be your friends Communities, Communities with topics that compliment your own, or just really great Communities that you like.

  • Creating A Welcome Post

Kick off your new Community by creating a Welcome blog post and pin it to the Featured Feed. Let new members know what they can find in your Community, which rules they should follow, and what kind of content they can find.

Learn more on how to create a blog post in your Community.

A popular way of structuring a Welcome Post is to use an FAQ format. Here are some sample questions you can address. Feel free to tailor these questions to suit your Communitys needs as specifically as possible:

    What can I do here?

    How does this Community work?

    How do I get Featured?

    Can I be a Leader?

    Whats considered an off-topic post?

The Welcome Post is also a good place to restate your communitys rules and guidelines in a more conversational tone so that your audience can clearly understand what is and is not acceptable in your community.

You can make your rules as strict as you want, as long as theydon'tinterfere with Aminos Community Guidelines.

    Posting a Welcome Challenge

Creating a Welcome Challenge is the best way to get people posting in your Community.

Create a blog post that consists of 5-10 questions that community members can answer about themselves. They can be fandom specific or generic getting-to-know-you questions: anything to encourage people to start conversations. You can post your own answers, and then challenge your audience to answer them as well. Welcome Tag is a good way to break the ice with your audience and give your fans an easy entry to participation (especially ifthey'restill too shy to write their own original blog posts).

Create a special tag they can add to their posts (i.e. #WelcomeChallenge #NewbiePost). This will help other members find them.

    Creating Content

As your community grows, youll want to make sure that theres a steady stream of high quality content and activities (blog posts, quizzes, polls, and more) populating your feed. An active Community is a healthy Community. After all, people want to read, comment, like, and create their own posts.

Leaders should keep this in mind, and have a plan for content creation. Not everyone is going to contribute really good content to the community right from the start: you may need to be prepared to carry your Community until things really get going.

One way to ensure theres always cool stuff happening on your Community is to plan for 10-15 quality blogs to post over the course of the first few weeks of your Communitys creation. These blog posts can be about the topic of your community, tutorials on how to contribute to the community (how to write a good blog, how to make edits, etc), or anything else you can think of that people might be interested in.

It might take some time and effort for your Community to take off. Dont get discouraged. Keep leading by example and create the kinds of posts that you would others to begin creating and contributing themselves.
