Animal Jam FAQs

Only one password link can be active at a time. If you requested the password reset multiple times, the link before it would be disabled.

So the first thing to do is not click the "Forgot Password" button.

Then, you need to go into your email and type "animal jam" in the email search field. This should pull up all of your password reset emails. If you are using Gmail, they may be all listed under one message. Find the most recent link and click it.

If that doesn't work or the link isn't clickable, right-click the link and choose "Copy link address". Paste (Ctrl+V) the link into a web browser and tap Enter.

If you are attempting to reset your password on a mobile device and the web page isn't loading, try opening the email from a computer.

If you get a message that says "invalid URL", try using another web browser. For example, if you use Internet Explorer, try using Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox to follow the link. We have found Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox are the most reliable web browsers to use for Animal Jam.

Clearing your browser's cache can also help remedy the invalid URL issue. If you try another browser and you are still experiencing the same problem, please clear your cache. We have provided links below to help you with this step:

Safari - Please note, Safari will not show all of the game's effects properly since it isn't fully compatible with Adobe Flash.

After you have cleared the cache, you must restart the browser.

After clicking the link in the email, or copying and pasting it into your web browser's navigation bar, you will be directed back to our website to create a new password. Simply follow the onscreen instructions again to reset your password. Once your password has been successfully changed, you will be able to use your new password right away!

There may be a number of reasons why you are not receiving Account activation or password reset emails.

Check the Spam and Junk folders of your email. Important emails occasionally get misidentified as spam. If you are using Gmail, also make sure to check your promotions folder.

Verify that the parent email address entered during registration is correct. If your email address was entered incorrectly, click here to learn how to update it.

If you use AOL, try updating your parent email to another email address from a different provider, such as Gmail or Yahoo.

If you are still not receiving important emails from Animal Jam HQ, please submit a ticket below and fill out the information requested.

Please note that if the parent email address entered during player account creation is misspelled or incorrect, you will not be able to successfully activate your Parent Account.

If you need to correct an incorrect parent email address, please "submit a request" below and include the requested information.

If you don't know your password:

Visit the Parent Tools.

Click "Forgot your password"

Input your email

You will receive a password change request email

Click the link within the email

You will then be prompted to input and confirm a new password.

You will receive a "successfully updated" message upon completion.

If you are logged into your Parent Account and would like to update your password:

Log into the Parent Tools.

Click on the Change Parent Password bar on the right of the Parent Account.

Type your existing password and your new password in the appropriate fields, then click the Save button.

You will be able to use your new password the next time you log into your Parent Account.

To reset your child's player account password from the ParentTools:

1. Log into the ParentTools.

2. Select the username of the Player Account from the drop-down.

4. Next to Player Password, tap the Change button.

5. Insert the new password in both fields and click Submit.

To reset your child's player account password from the Animal Jam homepage:

1. Click the Forgot Your Password? link directly underneath the "player Login".

2. Type your child's player account username and your parent email in the appropriate fields, then click the Submit button.

3. A password reset email will be sent to your parent email. If the email does not arrive in your inbox after a short while, check your Spam or Junk folders to assure its arrival.

4. Click on the link provided in the email or copy and paste the link into your browser's address bar.

5. Type a new password in the appropriate field, then retype to confirm it. Your child's player account password will then be changed.

Password Tips

- Choose a password that is easy for your child to remember, but is difficult for others to guess.

- Never use all or part of your child's username in their password.

- Please remind your child to never share their passwords with others, including their friends.

Please note that a player account's password cannot be reset if a player account is tied to an incorrect parent email address or the parent email has not been added yet. If this is the case, .

When you create your account, it is placed in the language server based on your geographical location.

Animal Jam currently supports the following languages; English, Spanish, French, German, and Portuguese.

To update the language for your account:

1. Have your parent or guardian log into the Parent Tools section of our website, Parents.AnimalJam.com.

2. Pick the player account with the drop-down.

3. Choose the AJ Game tab.

4. Next to Preferred Language, click the arrow and choose you the language you want to use.

The following is a list of troubleshooting tips for the most commonly encountered technical difficulties while playing Animal Jam. However, due to Flash Player being slowly phased out of use, we would also like to suggest downloading our Desktop App for your Mac or PC in order to play Animal Jam.

Close all browser windowsif you are using a Mac, you must fully quit the program through the menuthen restart your browser and log back into Animal Jam.

If Animal Jam is taking a long time to load, we suggest closing all other programs or internet tabs. Make sure your computer isn't downloading anything else, as this will slow down your internet.

Update your internet browser to its most current version.

If possible, try logging in from a different computer to see if the issue persists. If it does not, the issue most likely lies with the computer itself.

If you are experiencing a problem with your internet connection, verify that your network and computer hardware are in working order, then contact your internet service provider's customer support.

If loading the game results in a black or grey screen, or if the loading screen get stuck at a certain point, make sure you have the latest version of Adobe Flash Player installed on your computer. You can visit the Adobe website at http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/ to download the latest version.

Clear your browser's cache.

Verify that the time and date on your computer are accurate.

Use a different web browser to log into Animal Jam. Please note that older versions of Internet Explorer may not be compatible with Animal Jam, and due to partial incompatibility with Adobe Flash, Safari will not show all of Animal Jam's effects properly.

Update your Adobe Flash Player to its latest version. This is particularly helpful if loading Animal Jam results in a black or gray screen, or if the loading screen sticks at a certain point.

Uninstall and then reinstall Adobe Flash.

These are options given to Jammers to customize their Animal Jam experience.To access My Settings, click on the gear icon located in the upper-right corner of the Animal Jam game window.

AJ Code - Use this to apply any of your toy or membership codes to your account.

World - Choose which world you would like to be in.

Nametag - Choose how you would like Nametags to appear in the game; either us Usernames or Animal Names.

Jammer Wall - This will allow your Jammer Wall to be visible to players or not.

Den - This option locks and unlocks your den.

Player Icons in Den - Choose whether to show the icons of players when they are in your den.

Doorbell - You'll be able to hear a doorbell whenever another player enters your den, whether you are in your den or not!

Sound - The ability to turn sound on or off in the game.

Cursor - Changes the way your cursor arrow looks in game.

Buddy Requests

- If Buddy Requests are on, other Jammers will be able to request to be your buddy. You will have the choice of whether you want to add the other Jammer every time.

- If Buddy requests are off, no one can request to be your buddy, and you can't send requests to anyone else.

Game Invites

- If Game Invites are on, you can invite other Jammers to play games with you, and they can invite you to play too!

- If Game Invites are off, no one can invite you to play games, and you can't invite others to play games.

Find Open World - When this is on, you will load into the first available world area. You may end up in a different area than you meant to go!

Predict Chat - This option allows the chat system to predict words you are typing.

To cancel a recurring membership purchased from our website, AnimalJam.com, please follow the steps below:

1. Log into the Parent Tools.

2. Select the username of the Player Account from the drop-down.

3. Click the Settings tab.

4. Next to Membership, pick the drop down and change Auto Renew to Off.

Please note that the above instructions can only be followed if you have activated your Parent Account. Click here to find instructions for activating your parent account.

When a membership is purchased it it applied to the player account. If an account is registered to a different email or purchased with a different email than is connected to the player account, you may have an issue canceling your recurring from your parent tools, so please submit a request below.

Please be sure and provide all requested information when choosing the "Billing Issues" option and "Main issue - Cancel Payments". This will take longer and may not be reached before the recurring date, so be sure to allow ample time if you choose not to activate your parent account.

The player account will still be able to enjoy the benefits of its Animal Jam membership until the remaining time has elapsed. If you require assistance canceling the subscriptions purchased through our mobile app, you will need to contact your specific store.

AJHQ takes the safety and security of their players very seriously, and they want all Jammers to have a safe, inviting, and fun online experience.

Whether they are exploring Jamaa, chatting with their buddies, or engaging in role-play, Jammers should always follow the Animal Jam Rules. Every player must agree to the Animal Jam Rules when creating a player account, and players found in violation of the Rules may be subject to disciplinary actions.

To help keep Jamaa safe, AJHQ has a team of highly-trained moderators that constantly review in-game activity, chat, and player reports. If the moderators see behaviors such as bullying, cheating, scamming, using inappropriate language, or engaging in inappropriate role-play, disciplinary action will be taken on the player account(s) at fault.

Types Of Disciplines

If AJHQ's moderators find unfair trading behavior on an account, they will temporarily disable that account's trading and gifting abilities. This is done to help keep every Jammer and their items safe.

If the moderators find inappropriate language on an account, they will temporarily demote that account's chat setting to Bubble Chat. This is done to ensure that every Jammer can play in a safe environment.

If the moderators find an account that shows behavior that violates the Animal Jam Rules, the account will be suspended from logging into Animal Jam for a set period of time, and an email notification will be sent to the parent email address tied to that account.

Anytime a chargeback is filed for unauthorized and fraudulent charges, the account will be permanently banned.

To help Jamaa stay a safe and fun place for all Jammers, AJHQ moderators cannot lift any disciplines from player accounts. If your account was suspended or banned and you don't understand why, your parent can view your account's discipline history on their Parent Tools.

Follow these steps to create your own Animal Jam player account and start having lots of fun in Jamaa:

- Visit the Animal Jam homepage.

- Click on the Play Now button in the center of the screen.

- Click the Create An Animalbutton on the left.

- Choose which animal you would like to be, then click the Next button.

- Choose a fun new name for your animal, then click the Next button.

- Fill out all the required information, including your birthday, whether you are a girl or a boy, and your age. Then, type a unique username and password you will remember. This will be your login information each time you play Animal Jam.

- Under the password, there are the Privacy Policy and Animal Jam Terms of Service that you will need to click and read.

- After you have read both, click the Agree button at the bottom right. This will take you into the world of Jamaa where you will start your grand adventure!

Animal Jam codes can be found on official Animal Jam toys, advertisements, and other merchandise. AJHQ also releases codes for holiday celebrations and other special occasions. Every Animal Jam code rewards a cool prize, from items and pets to Gems and Diamonds.

To redeem your code:

Log into Animal Jam.

Click the Settings icon in the top-right corner of your screen.

Click the Redeem Code button at the top of the Settings menu.

Type your code in the space provided and click the Continue button.

The gift(s) from your code will either appear right away or the next time you log in. Each code can only be redeemed once.

And remember: never give away any of your personal account information, including your password, even if someone promises to tell you a code in return. There will never be an Animal Jam code that will require you to share any of your account information.

Animal Jam offers membership bundles from time to time to encourage new people to try member benefits. Occasionally they are offered as a reward to our customers who have recurring memberships even without making a new purchase. These bundles will often include bonus currency and/or virtual items. The important thing to remember is that the membership must be purchased from our membership page at animaljam.com/join.

- Retail gift cards, one time purchase gift certificates from our shop, in-app Play Wild purchases, and digital purchases are not eligible for these monthly bonuses.

- If the advertisement states new memberships, then recurring customers will not be eligible for the bundle.

We're often asked about the effect of Flash’s ending on Animal Jam. Animal Jam does not end with Flash in 2020. We’ve created a downloadable client that can be used on PCs to continue the fun. AJHQ requires parents to provide verified consent for their children to use various interactive features within Animal Jam, including Safe Chat - Plus. This consent is provided through the activation of your Parent Email and Parent Tools.

Starting in our September 2018 update, Safe Chat - Plus will be available for ALL Jammers in Animal Jam players as part of our 100 Million Player celebration.

Safe Chat Plus can be enabled from the Parent Tools.

1. Visit the Parent Tools and log in using your email.

2. Select the Player Account from the drop-down.

4. Click the Chat options and choose the chat you want for that Player Account.

Trading items and accessories is a favorite pastime for a lot of Jammers, and the Animal Jam Trading System was created to help all Jammers make fair and safe trades.

To see an in-game tutorial on how to trade, first click on the Trade button.

In the bottom left corner of your Trade List is a little blue button with the letter i on it. Click this button for an instructional video on how to trade safely.

Adobe Flash Player is slowly being discontinued by many browsers due to the difficulties to maintain it. While this install guide will help you with any Flash Player issues we do suggest trying our own Desktop App for Mac and PC as an alternative. It allows for abigger,full-screenAnimal Jam experience!

For Google Chrome users:

Google Chrome has an integrated Flash Player so users are no longer required to download an external version of the program. In order to allow or block content settings for specific sites, please click this Content Settings guide and add the Animal Jam URL to the Hostname Pattern.

You can also enable/disable Flash Player specifically for the Animal Jam website in Chrome by:

Animal Jam does it’s best to provide an in-game trading system for fair and safe trades. Be aware that there may be others Jammers who may try to take advantage. Some things to remember when considering if you want to get rid of or trade your items away:

Always use the trading system! Don’t be fooled by things like the following:

“My trade button is broken or not working like it’s supposed to.”

“My trade button is glitched.”

“If you give me your item, then I’ll give you a different or more items.”

“If you give me your rare item, I’ll purchase a membership for you.”

“My computer/game is lagging, so just gift it to me, and I’ll give it to you later.”

Attending free giveaways or Trust trades or Offers to decline a trade when you do use the trade system.

Offers to only accept the “best trades.”

“Keep trading me and you’ll have a chance to get more or better items.”

“Can I try that on? I’ll give it right back.”

And please remember to be careful in choosing your own items to trade away, if you click the wrong items you are not guaranteed the other user will return it due to your error.

Always log out of your account completely when you're done using it at school and at home!

We understand that users can fall for these scams, but AJ clearly states to always use the trade system. We will not be able to return any items. Please value your items and don't give them away in the hopes of getting something better. If it seems too good to be true, then it probably is!

To activate your account, click the purple gift box icon at the bottom of your screen next to the chat box.

Enter your Parent's Email in the available space and click the "Send Email" button.

An activation email will be sent to the Parent's Email. When it arrives, make sure your parents click the activate option in the email and on the webpage that is opened.

From there, your parent should be directed to the Parent Tools webpage where they can access their newly created Parent Account.

If you would like to change your username, our support team can help. Please note that a username can only be changed if ithas an active membershipandhas not been updated before.

Please submit a ticket using the option below and fill out the corresponding form so that our team can assist you promptly.

Once you have submitted a ticket, our team will reply back with more information. If your username change is approved, you will receive a pop-up when you log into Animal Jam which will guide you through the rest of your username update process.

There are multiple reasons as to why an account would be deleted.

The first reason is due to our adherence with the U.S. Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). Per COPPA, if we do not receive parental consent which can be given by clicking on the “Activate” button in the parental welcome email you should have received, then that account will be deleted.

Be sure to check your spam, junk, and promotions folders if you seem to be missing any emails from Animal Jam. Accounts are also deleted when we receive explicit requests to do so. Another reason an account may be deleted is due to inactivity. Free accounts that have not logged into the game for over a year are subject to account deletion. This maintenance ensures that our game is able to support the vast numbers of active users we have. Once an account has been deleted we are unable to restore the information.

We’d also like to mention that we require parental consent for both of our game properties, which is why it may seem like you’ve received the same requests. Animal Jam is our web based version, and Animal Jam - PlayWild! is our mobile version of the game currently available on Android and iOS devices. Please note that we send these emails every time an account is created to inform you of the account registration and to request your consent for each created account.

The Parent Account is the permission account that is created when an account is registered. To access the parent account, you can log into the Parent Tools which gives parents a number of settings that allow them to manage all aspects of their child's online presence in Animal Jam.

Flash Player is required for Animal Jam to run in your browser. Recent versions of Google Chrome have disabled the Flash Player by default. In order to play Animal Jam in Chrome, you will need to enable the Flash Player.

To help prevent issues like this in the future, we offer a desktop version of Animal Jam, so you can play without needing a browser! You can download the desktop app by visiting https://www.animaljam.com/download.

Guide to enabling Flash in recent Chrome versions:

1. With the http://animaljam.com web page open, click the Lock icon next to the search bar.

2. In the pop-up window, locate the Flash option.

3. Click the drop-down next to it and set it to Allow.

4. Once this is done, click theReload button that appears at the top of the screen.

Once done, you will be able to log in to Animal Jam! Keep in mind that you will need to follow this process every time you reopen the web browser.

1. Open Internet Explore and click the Tools icon in the upper-right corner of the browser. The icon looks like a small gear.

2. Once clicked, a pop-up menu appears. Click theManage Add-ons option.

3. In the box that opens, find and click the option calledTools and Extensions.

4. On the right side of the box, look for an option calledShockwave Flash Object and click it.

5. Click theEnable option at the bottom-right of the window. Once this is done, you can close the window and you should be good to go!

To enable Flash Player:

1. Open Firefox and click the Tools option on the top-rightof the screen (looks like three horizontal lines).

2.In the drop-down, click the option calledAdd-ons.

3.Of the options on the left side of the screen, choosePlugins. It looks like a blue box.

4.Scroll down the list ofPlugins until you find Shockwave Flash (this is another name for Flash Player).

5.The enable Flash, click the drop-down box on the Shockwave Flash plugin and chooseAlways Activate.

6. Close your browser. You should be good to go now!

Flash Player is integrated with Microsoft Edge in Windows 10. If you use the Microsoft Edge browser to play, you do not need to install Flash Player.

To enable Flash Player:

1.Open theEdge Menu by clicking the "..." button at the top right of the screen.

2.In the drop-down, click the option calledSettings.

3.Scroll down to theAdvanced Settingssection and click theView advanced settingsbutton.

4.Look through the list until you find theUse Adobe Flash Playerand click it the enable Flash Player.

5. Refreshyour browser and you should be good to go now!

Prior to enabling Flash Player, make sure it is already downloaded on your computer. You can check if it is downloaded by clicking here and selecting theCheck Nowoption.To download Flash Player,click here.

To enable the Flash Player:

1. Open a new browser tab or window, clickSafari in the tool bar at the top.

2. In the drop-down, choosePreferences.

3.Select theSecurity. Make sure thatEnable Java Script andAllow Plug-ins both have check-marks next to them with the blue box. If they don't, click the box to next to each to add the check-marks.

4.Click the bluePlug-in Settingsbutton on that same page.

5.SelectAdobe Flash Player and make sure the box next to it is checked.

6. At the bottom of the page you will seeWhen visiting other websites. Click the drop-down and change that toOn. This should also change theCurrently Open Websites section above toOnfor any webpages open.

6. Click Done at the bottom and refresh your browser. You should be good to go.

iOS Instructions

Double-tap the Home button to show every app currently running in the background on your device.

Swipe to scroll through the apps until you see AJ Jump.

Hold your finger on the AJ Jump window, then swipe upwards.

Android Instructions

Open the Application Manager menu located under Settings.

Swipe to scroll through the apps until you see AJ Jump, then tap the AJ Jump icon.

Tap the Force Stop button.

Kindle Instructions

From the main screen, press Apps. Then, in the upper-left corner, select Device from Cloud/Device.

Tap the gear icon to access Settings, then select More from the list.

Select Applications, then select either Third Party Applications or All Applications.

Find and select AJ Jump, then tap Force Stop.

iOS Instructions

Hold your finger on the AJ Jump icon in the home screen until an X appears in the upper left corner of the icon.

Tap the X. You will be asked if you are sure you want to delete the app and its data from your device.

Select Delete.

Android Instructions

Open the Application Manager menu located under Settings.

Swipe to scroll through the apps until you see AJ Jump, then tap the AJ Jump icon.

Tap the Uninstall button.

Kindle Instructions

From the main screen, press Apps. Then, in the upper-left corner, select Device from Cloud/Device.

Tap the gear icon to access Settings, then select More from the list.

Select Applications, then select either Third Party Applications or All Applications.

Find and select AJ Jump, then tap Delete.

At this time, AJ Jump can only be played on mobile devices.

However, any Gems that are earned in AJ Jump can be transferred to an Animal Jam player account. AJ Jump players can also earn an exclusive pet joey, which can also be transferred to their Animal Jam player account.

How to Download

AJ Jump is available for mobile devices, and can be found in the App Store, the Google Play Store, and on Amazon. AJ Jump costs $1.99, and is free from outside advertising and in-app purchases.

How to Play

The object of AJ Jump is simple: tilt the screen of your mobile device to control your kangaroo as it jumps higher and higher into the sky.

The greater heights your kangaroo reaches, the more gems you will earn. Your kangaroo can earn a boost from trampolines, springs, and other power-ups, but be sure to watch out for cracked and moving platforms, as well as those pesky Phantoms.

As you continue to jump higher and higher, you can spend your Gems on bonuses and accessories for your kangaroo. You can also transfer your Gems to your player account and spend them in Animal Jam.

How to get the Pet Joey in Animal Jam

In the options menu you can log into AJ Jump using your Animal Jam Password. The first time you do this, a Pet Joey will be sent to your account on Animal Jam. Once you log in, you can accept the Pet Joey and have it follow you around in Jamaa!

Please note that the Pet Joey isonly available in Animal Jam (not Play Wild).

How to Transfer Gems

After you have linked your AJ Jump account to your Animal Jam, you can use the options menu in AJ Jump to transfer earned gems to your Animal Jam Account. Keep in mind that you can only transfer up to 3000 gems every day and will need to wait until the next day to transfer more.

Play Wild requires a constant internet connection to play either by WiFi or a data plan on your mobile device. Due to the interactive nature of Play Wild, there is not an offline mode for the app.

Animal Jam Stickers is the newest way to share your favorite Animal Jam expressions outside of Jamaa!

Available on the Apple/iTunes store for iOS users, AJ Stickers allows Jammers to add dozens of animal, pet, emoji symbols, fun slogans, and even spooky phantom fun to your chats with friends and family.

How do I get the AJ Stickers App?

- Open the App Store on your device (ask a Parent or Guardian if you need help finding it).

- Click the search icon at the bottom of the store and type in "Animal Jam Stickers".

- Tap the Install button.

For iOS 11 and up users:

- Once the app has downloaded open up iMessage, select the “A” shaped application button next to the text field, and tap on the AJ Stickers icon.

- Select the Stickers you would like to add to your message. Some of the stickers may require an additional purchase to unlock.

For Older iOS versions:

- Once the app has downloaded open up iMessage, select green arrow button next to the text field, and click on app store icon.

- Tap on the AJ Sticker app.

- Select the Stickers you would like to add to your message. Some of the stickers may require an additional purchase to unlock.

Below we have some troubleshooting tips for you to try:

- Verify that the time and date on your computer are accurate.

- Uninstall the Animal Jam Desktop Downloadable Client app from your computer, restart, then re-install the app.

- If Animal Jam Desktop Downloadable Client is taking a long time to load, we suggest closing all other programs or browsers. Make sure your computer isn't downloading anything else, as this will slow down your internet.

- If possible, try logging in from a different computer to see if the issue persists. If it does not, the issue most likely lies with the computer itself.

- If you are experiencing a problem with your internet connection, verify that your network and computer hardware are in working order, then contact your internet service provider's customer support.

Bugs and glitches occur when something in Animal Jam's computer code performs differently than how it is supposed to. Because bugs and glitches can cause big trouble in Jamaa and ruin the fun for everyone, Animal Jam HQ is always working hard to fix things that aren't working like they should.

There may be a number of reasons your computer screen is not displaying Animal Jam properly.

Screen Resolution

The resolution of your screenthe number of pixels that are visiblemay be set too low. We recommend adjusting the resolution in the display settings on your computer.

Mouse Wheel

Many computer mice come with a built-in wheel which is often set by default to handle zoom function. If the Animal Jam game window is zoomed too far in or out, click on the blue area outside the game, then hold down the Ctrl key on the keyboard and roll the mouse wheel until the window is properly resized.

You can also return the zoom to its default setting by holding down the Ctrl key and pressing the 0 key. If your computer is a Mac, hold down the Apple or Cmd key, then press the + key.

There are several things that can prevent the Jammer Wall from showing or being edited.

The first thing to check is that your Jammer Wall is on. To do this while in game:

- Tap the Settings Parent Tools option in the top-right of the screen.

- Find the Jammer Wall in the list and make sure it shows as On.

- Go to your Jammer Wall by selecting the option from the top of the screen.

If you click on the icon and a message pops up saying that your Jammer Wall is not turned on, then your parents will need to turn it on in the Parent Tools. To do this, have them:

- Open the web page and log in.

- Using the drop-down, select your username.

- Click the AJ icon and toggle Jammer Wall to On.

We know it's frustrating when you can't login to Animal Jam, but sometimes we have to close Jamaa in order to make awesome, new changes or fixes.

If you ever see a message saying that the game is offline or under maintenance, it means that we are making the game even cooler.

Check back in a little later and the game should be online again!
