If this happens with a computer you've used with Animoto before, you can resolve it by clearing your cache so that your hardware can register correctly. Learn how to clear your cache here: https://www.refreshyourcache.com/en/home/

If youd like your images to fit perfectly, you can size them to the aspect ratio of your project. Square aspect ratio is 1:1 (1080x1080p) and landscape ratio is 16:9 (1920x1080p).
Getting The Best Quality
We recommend uploading images up to 2000 pixels on the longest edge at 72dpi, using the sRGB colorspace for best quality. For reference, Full HD video is 1920 pixels wide.

View ArticleHeres a rundown of the different kinds of resolutions you can use to download/export your video, and how to choose the one thats right for your project.
360p
Videos at 360p are well-suited to smartphones and other mobile devices since they use up less data, but may appear a bit blurry on larger screens. If youre creating slideshows in Animoto Memories, youll find 360p is the default resolution, and you may want to upgrade your resolution to share elsewhere.
480p
DVDs clock in at 480p, so if youre looking to burn a DVD, this resolution will give your disc the highest quality allowed by any DVD burner or disc. A 480p video will also play well on most laptop and desktop monitors, and smaller TVs.
NOTE: If youre looking for higher resolution disc, you will need a Blu-ray disc and Blu-ray burner.
720p
True high-definition starts at 720p, and this is the image resolution at which many HD television channels broadcast. An HD 720p Animoto video is crisp, sharp, and looks great on most displays.
1080p
For an even higher resolution, you can download your videos at 1080p, another favorite for HD television stations. We recommend this resolution for sharing on social media or for showing videos on larger screens and TVs, since itll give your audience the highest possible quality display, with crystal clear playback.

Pre-built templates vs. starting from scratch
The first step to creating a video with Animoto is choosing a template. Start your video by either selecting a pre-built template or starting from scratch.Starting from scratch allows you to start from a completely blank canvas.Pre-built templates are videos that have already been created and can be easily customized. These templates create structure for your video and were built with social media best practices in mind.
You can customize any pre-built template to create a video that presents your style, brand, and vision. Youll use the template editor to adjust fonts, colors, timing, and other design features.
Choosing a template
All of our templates can be adapted for different purposes, but each has its own unique features and style. Before you start, we recommend thinking about the overall goals and content of your video. Are you using educational content to engage potential customers? Are you showcasing your products to stand out from the crowd? Are you promoting your brand and services? Are you announcing a special event? Onceyou'vedetermined your goal, select a template that makes sense. Remember, you can always change the color and font to fit your brand or theme, so make a selection based on content over colors.
Template sample videos and default content
Each pre-built template containsdefault contentto showcase its unique layout and story and provide inspiration for your video. Click on a template to view the sample video.
While each example focuses on a specific type of business and use case, they can be easily adapted to create a variety of types of videos. Instead of focusing on the business used in the example, we recommend looking for specific features of the template that appeal to you and the video youre creating.
Customizing your template
Onceyou'veselected your template, its time to get started creating your video! Youll just use your content to replace the default content to make the video your own. Simply drag and drop your uploaded photos and video clips into theblocksto replace the default photos and video clips. You can customize the template to help bring your content to life, as well as add, delete, and rearrange sections of the layout easily. Also, note that blocks are flexible so you can always use a photo in a video block or a video clip in a photo block.
Switching styles
To change the style of your video, just click the Style icon on the left-hand side of your screen. Youll see the video styleyou'vealready chosen. To give your video a different look, click the blueCHANGEbutton.
ClickingCHANGEwill bring you to a screen that lists all of our marketing video styles. (Take a look at this blog post describing each style for more detail.) Click on a style to see a short preview; then, when you know which one you want, clickSELECTbelow that style to choose it.
You can change styles as many times as you want, or combine our new Change Style feature with a change in your videosto give it an entirely new look.
