John J. Bishar Jr. — General Counsel and Corporate Secretary at Arbor Realty Trust

Mr. John J. Bishar, Jr., serves as Executive Vice President and General Counsel at Arbor Commercial Mortgage, LLC. Mr. Bishar has been Corporate Secretary at Arbor Realty Trust, Inc. since May 23, 2012. He has been General Counsel of Arbor Realty Trust, Inc. since November 2016. Mr. Bishar served as Executive Vice President and Chief Governance Officer of Keyspan Corp., since March 1, 2005 and its Secretary of Keyspan Corp. since May 8, 2003 and also served its General Counsel. Mr. Bishar has more than 30 years of legal expertise to the Arbor companies. Mr. Bishar served as the U.S. General Counsel of National Grid U.S.A., one of the largest distributors of electricity and natural gas in the Northeast U.S. Mr. Bishar served as General Counsel at Arbor Realty Trust Inc. since November 1, 2002. He served as a Senior Vice President of KeySpan Corp., from November 1, 2002 to March 1, 2005. Before joining KeySpan Corp., he practiced law with Cullen and Dykman LLP and served as its Managing Partner from 1993 to 2002. From 1980 to 1987, he served as Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary of LITCO Bancorporation of New York, Inc. In 1987, he returned to Cullen and Dykman LLP as a partner responsible for its commercial lending and commercial real estate lending activities for a variety of financial institutions. He serves on the board of directors of the Long Island YMCA. He served as an Independent Director of Arbor Realty Trust, Inc. from April 2007 to January 27, 2012. Mr. Bishar is a graduate of Georgetown University and Fordham University School of Law.
