Mr. Kenneth D. Cochran, also known as Ken, has been Senior Vice President of Operations at Arch Coal Inc. since August 8, 2012. Mr. Cochran serves on the management board of Knight Hawk Coal Company. Mr. Cochran served as the Group President for Arch's Western Operations at Arch Coal Inc. from may 2011 to august 2012. He served as the President and General Manager at Thunder Basin Coal Company since 2005 until April 2011. During his tenure, Thunder Basin completed a highly successful integration of the Black Thunder and Jacobs Ranch mines. Prior to joining Arch Coal, he spent 20 years with TXU Corporation. He serves on the board of directors of Millennium Bulk Terminals-Longview, LLC. In addition, he served for three years on the board of directors of the Wyoming Business Coalition on Health. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in two states. Mr. Cochran holds a Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering from the Missouri University of Science and Technology in Rolla and is a graduate of the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School.
