Mr. Robert G. Jones, also known as Bob, has been Senior Vice President of Law at Arch Coal Inc. of Arch Western Resources LLC since August 2008. Mr. Jones has been General Counsel and Secretary of Arch Coal Inc. since March 2000 and serves as its Acting Chief Compliance Officer. He served as Vice President of Law at Arch Coal Inc. from March 2000 to August 2008 and as its Assistant General Counsel from July 1997 to February 2000 and Senior Counsel from August 1993 to July 1997. Prior to Arch, he held positions at Crowell & Moring law firm in Washington, D.C. and Exxon Coal Company. Mr. Jones serves as a Trustee of the Eastern Mineral Law Foundation and is a Member of the National Mining Association's legal and government affairs committees. He earned a Bachelor Degree in Mining Engineering from West Virginia University in Morgantown, W.Va. in 1979 and a Law Degree from Saint Louis University in 1987.
